Abcde and I were up early (no surprise there) and while I typed up the previous days activities she played and wife slept. Wearing the same shirt she had stained with strawberries the day before, Abcde joined me for breakfast and again survived on fresas and decaf coffee. Wife eventually joined us and after cycling through the shower we settled on the zoo as our best choice for things to do. At about 11 am Karina and Joel rolled up and we were on our way. Used Joel's AAA card for a small discount on the tickets which offset the price of the carousel, $84 all in for 4 adults and one free child. We first met Reggie the alligator, who was rescued from a local lake where his previous owner had dumped him to terrify ... read more

Adam asked for a list. He received it. Francine gave Adam, Angie's son a list of things to see while in LA. He has dilligently tried to make sure she saw and did everything, then some. Not just one view of the Hollywood sign but several from around the city. Adam points out every little tidbit he's learned in his 21year residency here in LA. The list included: Hollywood, Mann's Chinese Theater, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hollywood ign, Hollywood Bowl, Dodgers baseball Game, shopping at It's a Wrap, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Griffith Park, In and Out Burger, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Porto's Bakery... Then some of lesser known but still iconic LA experiences like traffic jams on the 5, massive crowds on the beaches and piers, Del Taco, Pinkberry Yogurt Bar, Bob's Big Boy Burgers ... read more

Well it wouldn't be a typical Angie vacation unless starting with a mishap. I went to download my boarding pass this morning for my 7:AM flight only to find that my computer had crashed overnight. Now my worries are not the boarding pass but the security of my credit cards and bank card. All my vacation plans could come to a complete halt. I am also scrambling looking for all of my electronic accessories for my trip, my cords, adapters, chargers for my phone, camera, netbook, bluetooth accessories to name a few. I haven't tag them so I don't know which one is for what?? Oh well getting back to my current dilemma of the credit cards; I called all my credit cards once I got settled at the airport and so far I am good!! ... read more

Ok so I haven't technically started my traveling yet, but visiting friends and family is always a fantastic way to start an adventure. This entry is really just to test the waters and get it out there that I have in fact succumbed to the world of blogging, at least for the next three months. The plan: June 21st fly from LA to Lima Peru. June 22-July 4 mosey down the coast with my bro, and I mean that in the literal sense. July 4-September 12 live and be awesome in Vinya del mar (my computer here doesn't have the proper lettering, I'll work on it). September 13 get to Santiago September 14 fly home Details to come. Stay posted. Love Me... read more

Today we got to meet and greet our grand nephew, Angus James Peiffer. Amanda & Chris (his Mom & Dad) live in Glendale and Angus was born 9 months ago. This has been our first chance to meet him, so Amanda made us a delicious lunch and we got to visit and play with Angus at their house in Glendale. Angus is a delightful 9 month old boy who is in the "cruise on the furniture" stage" with full out walking not far behind. Amanda is our niece, John's brother, Charlie's daughter and cousin to our children. We haven't seen or visited with Amanda & Chris since their wedding 18 months ago in Petaluma. It was good to visit all three of the Peiffers and we loved "playing with the baby".... read more

Greetings from Glendale in Los Angeles, California, USA We have had a pleasant week in LA, mainly involved with Young Ok's family and their wedding preparations. Young Ok's nephew, John, is getting married tomorrow. We did manage an excursion to Palm Springs and then through Josuah Tree National Park, which was a very interesting visit to some of the desert country. At times it felt that we were on a western movie set. Matthew joined us today from Korea, after a week in Dubai/Abu Dhabi with his work.... read more

On the 18th I went to MCO to fly to BUR. My first flight layed over in Phoenix. On the way there I talked to some girl with whom I did an excellent job of avoiding to learn her name. So that was semi-entertaining, but then, as we are getting closer to landing, she visibly is going through some inner turmoil so i ask her if she's OK and she's not so sure and she grabs the white puke bag in front of my seat and i am getting totally excited. I kept trying to talk her and be calming and assuring because she gives the impression that she isn't interested in puking right now. But come on, just do it, it'll be hilarious, but don't get it on me. And then, omg omg omg. So, ... read more

Michael and I have been in L.A. (the Glendale area) for 2 nights so far staying at Michael's friends apartment Dave. He is cool. I am sleeping on his couch and Michael was sleeping on this guy who lives there's bed, Tommy, because he was away in North California (NorCal) for a few days. However, he just got back about an hour ago, so Michael will probably sleep on the floor. It is better than paying for a place to stay though! Before we left San Francisco we went and saw Mina and Naya for lunch. They made us lunch. It was nice. I don't know why, but they were really sad to see us go. I wasn't attached to them or anything, they were cool, but not enough to cry over when leaving. Anyway.... I ... read more

Friday, August 10th- Leave Glasgow and head back home: Mom, John and I board the bus for the last time around 8am (can’t remember when actually- just know we were on the 2nd shuttle to the airport). No Frank- he took off the night before so we just have Margie. She isn’t quite sure she believes my mom when she says we went to The Waterloo last night, so I whip out the computer and show our proof. Think she wishes she had joined us. It’s raining pretty good today, and when we get to the airport, we all get a second shower. Mom forgot her raincoat in the hotel (Margie is suppose to be mailing it to her) and I had packed mine. So, we give Margie a final hug and take off in the ... read more
