The roaring water streaming down the river, it falls off what seems to be a 1,000 foot drop. It almost seems as though time stops when the water is free falling into the niagra river. Then it suddenly crashes to the water bellow creating a thundering echo and sending mist all over the surrounding area. It is one of the seven wonders of the world, it truely is spectacular. I am talking about the NIAGRA FALLS... incase you were having a bit of trouble figuring out what i was talking about. Last week my Natural Disasters class went to see the magnificent Niagra Falls. Some of my other friends and I had to go down in the teachers car because the bus was full. It was kinda awkward at the beginning, but then we started to ... read more

Jessica's Trip to Niagara Falls From Toronto we got on a bus to Niagara Falls. The bus ride was a lot of fun. On our way their we stopped for some breakfast at Tim Horton's. I got a BLT, and it was amazing. When we arrived in Niagara Falls the first thing we went to was ' The Maid of the Mist' beneath the falls. After travelling through the falls we went through all the hauted houses and mazes that were there, which were really fun. I got lost. After the mazes and haunted houses we went out for lunch at Subway and i got the combo because i was starving. After lunch we waited for the bus and headed back to school. Overall the trip was amazing and Niagara Falls is a beautiful place to ... read more

We started our day by getting off the bus and heading straight for the falls. They were epic, as ussual but because of high waters we could not go on the Maid Of The Mist. After taking some pictures of the falls we proceeded into the theatre to watch a 4D movie about the falls. It was interesting to see how much errosion they have caused and how there position is constantly changing. The movie had a few wet suprises but it was great never the less. After the movie, we were on our own for the rest of the day, so we headed up to the tourists area on the hill. Although some people almost chickened out, we made it through "Screamers", the legendary hauted house alive which wasint even that scarry. From there we ... read more

Well, I'll admit this up front. This will probably be my first and only post on this blog, barring any other Natural Disasters lessons that require the use of this and what-not. The main reason why is because of the fact that I don't travel very much . Well, anyways... Our trip to Niagara Falls started when we got on the bus at about 8:00 AM. When we finally got there at about 10:00 AM, we went to the Maid of the Mist Ticket Booth, as you can see from my image to the left of me. Sadly however, our planned ride onto the Maid of the Mist was cancelled due to bad weather.... Hence, we took the money and went onto some sort of thing called "Niagara's Fury: The Creation of the Falls" instead. First, ... read more

On October 7th 2009, our, Birchmount Park CI natural disasters class along with a travel and tourism class was lucky enough to go down and see Niagara Falls for the day. It was a very long bus ride for the amount of leg room you were given, but in the end it was all worth it. When we first got to the falls, we were all fascinated just taking in what was there in front of our eyes(one of the seven great wonders of the world). It was very fun watching the falls, other than the fact you got a little bit wet, even from so far away. The falls are a sight that last a life time. After our initial shock was over, we were supposed to go for a ride on the Maid of ... read more

To being our trip, we all met up at the school at 8 so we could get on the road as soon as possible. When we first got to Niagara Falls, one of the seven wonders of the world, the first thing we had on our list was go on the Maid of Mist. Unfortunatly since it was a crummy day out, and there was a bad storm the night before , the docks were flooded! Might have been a good thing since it was freezing outside. As we looked for somthing to do Niagara Falls-related, we waited at a Tim Hortons and warmed up. The teachers luckily found a movie of the falls upstairs where you move around. It showed us all around the falls and it sprayed water out at us making it seem ... read more

Im leaving tomorrow for a trip around the world, i have no definite plans other than i land in new delhi on october 13th 4 am and i have one year to get to australia before my work visa expires. The length of my trip through asia pretty much depends on when i run out of money, right now i have just over $12,000 thats I've saved from working the last year. Most of my money is in bank accounts that I'll access through debit cards, i have $500 in US travelers cheques, and $400 in american cash. For anyone thinking "what the hell would someone take for an open ended trip around the world" oh don't worry I've made a list and i have a picture of it all. These things included: Camera and camera ... read more

Feeling a little worse for wear we managed to get up in time for the wonderful pancakes that the hostel made for breakfast! They were actually ok surprisingly! After packing up and loading the car we hit the road and headed down towards Niagara falls. When we eventually arrived we stayed on the Canadian side as the views looked better. The falls were pretty spectacular but different to what we imagined. The city of Niagrara falls is built around the falls themselves, i thought that they would be outside the city but the falls actually divide the USA and Canada, pretty cool!! We wondered around a little further trying to find the museum that had everything about the people that had gone over the edge of the falls in barrels but all there was a imax ... read more

Blackpool I mean Niagara Well having arrived on the very nice (very early) Amtrak train, on a beautiful sunny afternoon, we were all ready to have a wash and go explore. However it would seem that Canadian officials were unaware of our plans and of the actual arrival of the train as we waited about an hour for them to put their coffee cups down and come and do boarder checks!! 40 mins after being asked, did we have any gifts for anyone here (no I don’t know the people on the train that well!!!), why are we here, where are we going etc etc we got off the train to find our hostel just down the road, thank god. NO NOT THANK GOD THANK SATAN!!! The hostel was well meaning, run by kids just out ... read more
