Hi all. We drove all day today from one end of Nova Scotia to the other. These strange and friendly people were nice enough to wave hello to us as we drove by and Margaret was all "What is up with that?" I just explained that outside of NYC most people are friendly.... LOL We stopped on the way at the oldest winery in Nova Scotia but alas they were not open yet and no booze for us at 9AM :( We moved onwards to Truro where we caught the Tidal Bore in the nick of time. Thankfully, that did not take too long because I would have lost it with my A.D.H.D. We stopped at the Bulk Barn where they had lots of goodies. Badeck is located just off Highway 106 about halfway between Port Hastings and Sydney. The main reason for going to Badeck is to tour the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. This museum chronicles the life and times of this great man and there is a lot to see. Many remember him as the inventor of the telephone, however he should be remembered for much more than that. He was a teacher of the deaf and devised a type of code whereby he could communicate with his students. He fell in love with and married one of his students and this marriage lasted for many years until their deaths at advanced ages. Hi everyone! Clarenville celebration went pretty well for our first. We did get screeched in there. Lot's of laughs. Tried cod tongues. eeww! Went to Cornerbrook after that. Stayed in a beautiful old Tudor style inn. The people in Cornerbrook were unbelieveable. The whole town dressed in red and walked four abreast for about 2 miles to the celebration site. It gives you goosebumps. The show is amazing. Our set up still needs some fine tuning. Drove to the ferry in Port Aux Basque after the show. A very long hard drive. Gail like winds. Torrential rains and in the dark with lots of moose. Thank God we didn't see any. It was late by the time the ferry debarked. Around midnight. Nachdem ich sooft hoeren durfte "In diesem Park sieht man mit Sicherheit Moose", ich aber bis jetzt nie welche erblicken durfte hatte ich schon langsam die These aufgestellt, dass Moose sowas is wie der kanadische Yeti: Immer wieder kommt jemand der angeblich welche gesehen hat, aber eigentlich is es nur ne ausgekluegelte Touristenfalle. Ich wollte mich schon auf nen Job bewerben um durchn Wald zu laufen und ueberall Mooseabdruecke oder Scheisshaufen fuer die bloeden Touristen zu verteilen die dann glauben dicht auf den Spuren von angeblichen Moose zu sein! Doch dann kam Cape Breton, und selbst euer vom Mooseglueck nich grade verfolgten Jaja bekam endlich welche zu Gesicht. Die ersten in der Naehe vom Highway, dann 8 weitere aufm Trail! Hey ihr! Nach Fritz Ausfuehrungen jetyt auch mal wieder nen kurzer Bericht von mir: Nach wunderschoenen 1,5 Wochen in Cape Breton und dem sich dort befindenen Highlands-NAtional-Park bin ich grad in Sydney (nein, nich in Australien sondern in Nova Scotia) und warte auf meine Faehre nach New Foundland heut Abend! Dort werd ich noch nen bisschen wandern und die angepriesene Gastfreundschaft der Nufis testen! Meld mich danach wieder und versorg euch mit Bildern und neuen Geschichten! Also kurze Zusammenfassung von Cape Breton: Nachdem ich eigentlich nur nen paar Tage wandern wollte is mal wieder alles total anders gekommen, ich bin daher 4 Tage auf nem oekologischen Bauernhof gelandet, hab dort mit ca 15 anderen Thanks-Giving gefeiert, Kartoffeln und andere Fruechte gepflueckt und war danach wandern inklusive campen!
