Bu İstanbul büyük be kardeşim !!! Git git evimize gelemedik. Her neyse sonunda sağ salim eve varabildik. Boğaz'a karşı bir kahve patlattık. Bu da tüm yorgunluğumuzu aldı gitti. Bizden bu kadar . Gelecek yolculukları paylaşmak üzere sağlıcakla kalınız. Size günümüzün küçük bir videosunu sunuyorum : http://tripwow.tripadvisor.com/tripwow/ta-00a2-8a52-4f35?lb... read more

The past few days have been great! We stayed at the Massada Youth Hostel for 2 nights - the hostel is brand new, very clean, and well kept. We had a private balcony overlooking the Dead Sea as well. The first day we went to Ein Gedi and went on a hike through the waterfalls and caves. We swam in a small pool formed by the spring runoff. It was fun! Later that day we went to swim in the Dead Sea near the major hotels. The scenery was primarily geriatric, but floating was fun. The next morning we woke up at 4am to climb Massada. Josh and I made it up in 20 minutes. Noah was a little slower, but had an impressive time nonetheless, considering he was still on antibiotics and had a combined ... read more

Middle East » Israel » Haifa District » Haifa May 29th 2007

The trip from the border takes us through lush quilts of farmland and fields of bobbing sunflowers - the sorts of Edenesque flourishes that make the words “Promised Land” sound like more than just snazzy PR. We drive through tidy suburbs with orange-tiled roofs and leafy yards, little girls pedaling their bicycles down the street, plaits of hair swinging from their pastel-colored helmets. If there’s any sure-fire sign that I’m a long way from the rest of the Middle East, it’s the fact that it feels like I’ve dozed off and woken up in Poughkeepsie. There are terriers scampering down the street, late-model sedans in more than a few driveways. I’m half-expecting a Mr. Softee truck to come coasting down the avenue, playing a cheerful, off-key jingle while a gaggle of screeching kids follow. With ... read more

After feeling like dying of sunstroke in the Iranian region of Khuzestan, the friendly bus driver offered me a cup of tea...with literally a handful of bloody sugar cubes that made me assume I was going to become diabetic. Crikey, i suppose this is the local remedy for sunstroke. When I tried to refuse the sugar, I got really scary glares from dear old Amir, who looked like an angry and spicier twin of Super Mario. 50 degrees celsius was like hell, especially when the bus thermometer refuses to acknowledge heat beyond 50, so who knows how hot is was there as I tried my best to check out the ancient persian political capital of Susa? Sadly unlike Persepolis there isnt much to left there except for remnants of walls, a base of a column and ... read more

Middle East » Bahrain » Manama May 28th 2007

So, my last trip before leaving Kuwait this year was to Bahrain... The home of Michael Jackson, a grand prix track which takes up half the island and many far eastern ladies of the night..... I can't remember so much of the weekend. I didn't even sleep at the hotel I booked a room in - a proper UK style random night. I think the club we ended up in was called F1 and had a Phillipino thrash metal band playing.... I live for such odd moments ) Bahrain is an unashamed middle eastern party island (just off Saudi Arabian Coast) - problem is that it is people from the Middle East that are there partying. Now, that sounds slightly harsh, but people from the Middle East just don't 'do'party at all... They do overly ... read more

Hi guys and girls Well we arrived safely in Istanbul this morning = Dubai was amazing never seen so many planes lined up and being filled in one place You will have to excuse the lack of full stops of other punctuation of any kind as the keyboard that I am using is all back to front and the owner is less than helpful It was great flights and we stayed at the Plaza Park Royal in Singapore for 36 hours and had a great time Lachie been a bit sick with a Kiwi stomach bug he bought with him Very hot there yesterday in the early thirties and thunder storms in the late afternoon I can see this trip is going to be a bit of fun as for those who know that I like ... read more
