So, ich habe es gemeistert.IchbininSyrien,genaugenommenin Aleppo. Oder, Haleb. Die arabische Form will ich euch jetzt mal ersparen. Fangen wir wieder mal von vorne an. Gestern morgen (Montag) schreckte mich mein Wecker um 3.45 aus der Kiste. Schlaftrunken begab ich mich zum Hilton-Hotel von Izmir, von wo um 4.30 der Bus zum Flughafen fuhr. Laut Airline (SunExpress, eigentlich eine tuerkisch-deutsche Charterairline, die neuerdings innertuerkisch einen auf Billigflieger macht), musste man 90 Minuten vorher da sein, was bei einem Abflug um 6.45 echt klasse ist. Jedenfalls hoben wir dann irgendwann ab Richtung Gaziantep. Dort warteten vorm Flughafen bereits Busse, die in die Stadt fuhren. Dort angekommen, lief ich ein bisschen herum und vergewisserte mich am Bahnhof davon, dass zur Zeit wirklich kein Zug fuhr :). Dann nahm ich ein Dolmus (Sammeltaxi) zum Otogar (Busbahnhof). J’avais déjà entendu parler d’Istanbul dans le passé, mais je ne savais pas trop à quoi m’attendre de cette ville avant de quitter le Canada. En fait j ai choisi cette ville comme destination de départ un peu a l’aveuglette, désirant avant tout trouver une porte d’entrée pour l’Europe de l’Est. Après avoir passé 10 jours dans cette ville, je peux dire que j' ai été agréablement surpris. En fait Istanbul est un agréable mixte de culture européenne et de culture du moyen-orient. Ce qui fait que la ville est particulièrement exceptionnelle est sa situation géographique. En effet, Istanbul est à cheval sur le continent européen et asiatique faisant le pont entre la mer noire et la mer méditerranée. Hey all, trying my best once again to update everyone on the happenings of my little journey. For those that were on my Gecko's tour and are pedantic (which I recall is no-one except for myself), I apologize for my last entry, as some of the events were depicted in an incorrect chronology - best think of my blog as something along the lines of "inspired by actual events..." So here is my second entry and i hope i can type pretty quickly as internet is fairly expensive here. It has been 10 days since the beginning of birthright and it has ended after 10 amazing days in israel. We literally did almost everything, albeit very shortly, in isreal. I will briefly go over all the highlights of the places i visited and you will have to ask me for the details. Day 1: Arrival and Caesaria We arrived after a long 12 hour flight in ben guiron and all of us really just wanted to sleep and hit the showers.
