Woolly says – It’s been a hectic few weeks with little time to put paws to the keyboard. As we started to pack up our possessions and I checked my pistachio levels which were running dangerously low I made the most of the drizzle and celebrated my burpday. The kind owners of the Plassey laid on an incredible firework display in my honour on the Saturday followed by food and drinks on the big day itself, well I couldn’t ask for more really…..although more presents would have been good! The humans took my party as a goodbye affair and having exchanged addresses and contact details I spent my last morning playing golf. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that not everything was just for him! Woolly says – I will miss my daily round ... read more

Woolly says – the weeks have been flying past and in between catching up with my hordes of fans and checking the nut supplies, I have taken to integrating a little more with our Turkish neighbours, why Jo seemed to have a problem with this I will never know! Possibly because throwing pistachio shells over the balcony is more likely to annoy the neighbours! Woolly says – I’m sure they don’t have a problem with the extra sweeping! The days have been warm and having padded my way round the harbour and sat admiring the views from my special place at the castle, I decided that the women would benefit from a day out, it seemed logical to find somewhere that was accessible by bus, not wanting to trust Jo’s driving on the busy Turkish roads ... read more

We were quite sad to be leaving the farm and as the car drove us down the dusty tracks for the last time I’m sure I saw a tear glinting in the Mammoths eye. Woolly says – It was dust from feeding the chickens! Christmas had passed and although Father Christmas had got the dimensions wrong for my Porsche we had enjoyed ourselves, well I had as I carried out my final supervisory duties, the women seemed to think I was working them to hard! Pulling up at St Astier’s train station I trotted onto the freezing platform as Jo and Zoe sorted out the tickets, just as the last part of my body started to freeze the train pulled in and I settled down to a relaxing journey back to our home in Turkey. Eight ... read more

Hello Istanbul' Istanbul, one of the most beautiful capitals in the world that many Americans have always dreamed of going. I went to Istanbul and I really enjoyed it a lot and I'm going to go back there. Plus, I'm going on a Mediterranean Cruise in 2017 and in 2018. Very exciting. Best attractions I really enjoyed is going to the Mosque of Istanbul. My old Professor Mr.Callan Bentley went to Turkey and he really enjoyed Hagia Sophia almost 7 years ago when he looked at his profession of Geological works in the . It's one of the most importance of Turkey:Hagia Sophia. Many religious people come and pray and sing to Allah. Allah important God and will always be for Muslism Religion. img=http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B3iDrnNrtsg/Tyy2HbQYgVI/AAAAAAAACTY/cbzV_bjTkMw/s1600/%28Turkey... read more

Smooth sailing the rest of the way…I arrived in Istanbul and caught another flight to Antilya and then a shuttle to Alanya (which I thought was close by but its like 110 km away). Same sort of idea here at this resort; activities of the touristy nature and way too many old people…90% of the peeps there were German. Idk why, but it must have something to do with the largest Turkish population outside of Turkey being in Berlin…goes the other way too maybe? Idk…buuuuut I speak a lil so I got by just fiiiiine. I really did nothing the whole week. Well, I supposed I went to a market street like a 10 minute walk away and bought myself a bracelet. I also spent a lot of time searching for a Turkish flag patch…and in ... read more

Woolly says – I sat chuckling to myself as Jo repacked the suitcase for the third time, by now most of the things that had originally been put in were now on the floor and Jo being Jo sat with her bottom lip wobbling at the thought of not being able to take everything she needed. Daughter Zoe came to the rescue stating the obvious ‘why don’t you just book some more weight onto the flight?’ Jo perked up immediately and started repacking and loading everything back in…women! He makes it sound so easy but with things going into storage for an unknown period of time I needed to make sure I had all the vitals, but maybe not quite so many packets of chocolate buttons! Woolly says – I voted for taking the chocolate and ... read more

So, our last night here – Cathy loved it so much we stayed. The restaurant was so good that we ate there each night too, what a treat although the prices here are pretty good as per. A beer, a bottle of wine, two types of bread, mixed salad, large pickles, adana (beef) kebab & shish (lamb) kebab with sides for less than £30 & the wine almost half of that. We have walked & cycled to the local shops, lazed, swam & generally had a very nice time. We met the ex president of the Turkish Camping federation & he promised to give us the details of his recommended sites. We saw 5 Russian models being photographed on the beach – more pouty lips than on your fishmonger's slab, so funny & very 70s. Oh ... read more

Decided to stay a couple more nights because the beach & restaurant are so nice & because we can. We lounged on the beach until the weather changed. The forecast for today was for a thunderstorm at 5pm which was wrong – it started at 4.15pm. Amazing lightning out to sea & heavy thunder which got closer & closer until it hit the coast & it rained as the sun then approached from the sea as the cloud passed overhead. Fed the peacocks who liked pistachios & fiery hot chilli crisps but they seemed to be drinking a lot out of the puddles later … And what puddles there were; the drizzle turned into a tropical downpour which lasted a good hour. Went for a meal under cover– it had stopped raining but the seating & ... read more

t was hot yesterday – 33 most of the afternoon & in the evening the breeze dropped so it was a hot night despite have all the roof lights open. Worth it though for the first view out of the door when we got up.... The showers were hot too which is more than we were expecting. We went & sat on the beach & read then had a swim in the sea, our first this year. It was a bit cold; I must have been very emotional as I had two lumps in throat...We were watching the little fish in the shallows when a sea bass or a mackerel shot by & gobbled a few up. We had a wander around an ancient monument in the afternoon which is right net door to the site ... read more

Woolly says – It’s hard to believe that we have now lived in Turkey for over eighteen months. As part of our five year plan – Jo does like a plan – it hadn’t panned out in quite the way we had expected due to circumstances out of our control and I suppose I knew that it couldn’t continue with days of sitting on the balcony, wandering around the harbour or chasing the waves on the beach. There was a distinct smell of change in the air…… I told him to have a bath! Woolly says - …… and as Jo seemed intent on writing list upon list I knew that something was afoot (well paw in my case). As discussions were held with daughter Zoe and more lists were made a plan seemed to be ... read more
