Finally, I am getting to the point of no return. I have my camper van, a Renault Traffic minibus conversion (see pictures in gallery). This was not my first choice, I had planned on a Mazda Bongo with a pop top. However, I could not get insurance for my type of trip on this van they are registered as 8 seaters (don’t ask why). Anyway, £4,500 later (£1,000 insurance & road tax) later I have a camper that hopefully will do the job. Original plans to leave at the beginning of June have been put back by a couple of weeks due to red tape (various document & delays in bank transfers). The bank balance has taken a bit of a battering, but most of this I should get back when I sell the camper at ... read more

The Bike Odyssey. Day 1, 1st June Werrington - Uttoxeter - Burton - Leicester Last night at 6pm, all were assembled in the lounge for the “Last Supper”; Rory, Toby, Scott and Leslie. Harvey turned up with some beers and a strange present! Joy was there taking photos, and Kathryn phoned me from LA - what a lovely box of surprises she posted me today, the crystal ball I’ll take with me… There was a party atmosphere with everyone getting on just great. We had a sacrificial burning of the bike boxes up the garden, then drank beer in the garden till late. I spoke to my mum and dad before going asleep and gave them big hugs. They’ve been so supportive about this trip and without dad’s help it would not have been possible. So ... read more

Hello Random Fans! Last saturday, RandomMan & Willis were invited to Upchurch, more importantly the home of the Krazy Kids, Nick & Dan. This was the first time RandomMan had actually been invited inside so i was very keen to take the guided tour!! I have to say i was impressed with all the hard work that had gone into the house, and it was verywell thought out and impeccably clean. Bet Nick thought i wouldn't notice she had spent a few hours tidying up!! Our trip served two other purposes, not just so i could have a nose around their house, but also so we could play my new Buzz and Singstar games and the girls could get very, very drunk!! Willis and i were due to set out at 6.30 am the next morning ... read more

Hey everybody!! This is the first realtime Blog Im putting on here, all the ones previous have been me transfering them from other websites as I think this is such an easy site to navigate and so painless to use! When the V Festival tickets first went on sale, I mucked around and didnt get one straight away, so missed out :o( It was as bad a Glastonbury though and sold out in 3 hours. All the Ashbourne crew managed to score tickets as always, so I knew they were at least going. Gordy was in London a few weeks ago for work and Matt, Faith, Charmaine and I met up with him for some drinks. He mentioned then that he had some spare tickets going, which Matt and Faith promptly snapped up. Only fair, as ... read more

We finally arrived at Heathrow. We picked up our baggage and dashed off to the car rental lot. Considering that driving on the so-called "wrong" side of the road was new for us, we opted to pay a little more for a car with an automatic transmission. We didn't care to cause any head-on collisions due to having to multi-task, thank you very much! Perhaps the busy roads around Heathrow didn't provide the optimum environment to cut your teeth driving in the UK, but Seth quickly got the hang of it. Once we were on the M25, he was very relaxed and we were on our way to meet Seth's family in Burton-upon-Trent. The World Pony Driving Championships were being held nearby at Catton Hall in South Derbyshire. When we arrived, everyone was already out at ... read more

Just over a week to go before I embark on what my family say will be a trip of a lifetime - I'm going to Beijing, China to take part as a foreign volunteer at Tsinghua University, helping, along with other native English speakers, Chinese university students to improve their English skills. My sister has been helping me to get my toiletries ready, and has already agreed to help me with sorting out clothing and packing - I'm sure she expects payment for her help!! All I can say is that I'm very excited about going - my visa, flights and travel insurance are all sorted, so all I need to do is make sure that I get to the airport and check-in on time, and then it's 'Bon Voyage!!' I hope to keep family and ... read more

Amber is officially gone. She left this morning. I had to drop her off at the airport last night because her flight left this morning at 6am. I miss her. I am realizing how hard it is going to be to leave the people I have met. Feeling a little down today. I am exhausted, still recovering from uni stress, and an emotional case! This trip has changed my life and I have met amazing people. Goodbye's are the worst and some of these goodbye's are "have a nice life" (quote taken from amber) or as Josh would say "have a nice life and dont die soon." Leaving Josh is going to kill me as well. I can't believe I leave a week from Saturday to go back to work and summer school. Enough of my ... read more

I just had two papers to write because I had already gotten 2 out of the way! WOOT WOOT JULES! My neighbor John and I would message each other during the process. We helped each other keep track of word counts and take the enjoyable tea breaks! I look like a crazy every time I came out of my room to see the world... Well Wednesday was the night!
