The trip to Seoul Is already proving to be a hazardous one, with North Korea pulling out of it's peace treaty with South Korea - we are venturing forth into a country that is wary of it's neighbours. Nothing we can't handle though right? As it stands, we have a few weeks to go before we leave, and we are leaving Keele on saturday to go home from our halls/shitehole, to home sweet home where parents can bug us and we can at least have a living room. "Life is something like this trumpet. If you don't put anything in it, you don't get anything out." -W C Handy With Handy in mind, we are off to toot our horns and prepare for hour trip. More info to come!... read more

Great sleep on the couch although i kept waking up cause everyone needed to start their days way earlier than i planned!! So i got up and had some tea around 1030 ish, had some breaky and got ready to set off for a day of exploring. I walked through the outskirts of town not making a right turn somewhere i walked past a bunch of cool shops and amusement centers (uk casinos) and ended up walking across a huge bridge to end up in Quay pronounced key. Walked down to the harbour and found the cool Mellenium bridge which is quite the design. Walked over that to the Baltic and had a look in there for awhile. Not a huge fan of modern art!!! At all Best thing in there was this gallery for Darwin ... read more

What a Supertrouper of an idea it was to have our first Tradeteam "deployment to Project Outback" do at an Abba tribute night! We knew it was going to be a Midnight Special where The Winner Takes it All and plenty of the gang past and present turned up The Way Old Friends Do for a fling before Our Last Summer together for quite a while! With a role call of 30 we headed into Tamworth to face our Waterloo! First up to experience our Abba-ness was Chicago Rock, you would have thought the staff in there have seen it all before but this seemed new to them! Maybe it was because the average year of their birth was about 1985!! Onto the the Assembly Rooms we went. Would it be like the last time we'd ... read more

Tis true, today is our 9th Wedding Anniversary and as much as we love our little home with it's beautiful surroundings, we can't wait to be somewhere warmer this time next year! The countdown to the off is in full flow with more and more emphasis being placed on the search for a suitable adventure vehicle. This includes hours being spent on the internet rather than cooking tea! We'd originally thought the decision about 'what vehicle' was totally straight forward ... campervan, has to be, doesn't it? Well apparently, no, it doesn't! Now the idea of a 4WD and a caravan has crept into our collective minds so we're checking out more possibilities. It's not just us two that we need to consider, Sarah's Mum and Dad will be coming out to Australia sometime in 2010 ... read more

Michael suggested some weeks ago that we could cycle along the towpath of the Shropshire Union Canal from somewhere near Telford and turn off at the junction of the Llangollen canal with the aim of going to Llangollen! Having been caught when my defences were weak I duly agreed and today we semi-dismantled our bikes (well, took off the front wheels) piled them into Jen's can and headed for Wheaton Aston. After some difficulty in, first, getting the right wheels on the right bikes, the correct way round, we then had to cope with misaligned brake blocks. For natural engineers, such as Michael and me, this was the work of but a few moments. The tow path was of variable quality throughout but, for most of this first section, it was freshly-mown grass with surprise bit ... read more
