We left about 9:30 today. Ares (our skipper) had warned us it was going to be a rough one. Not even ten minutes into the journey and 7 out of the 11 of us were feeling queesy. It turned out that this trip was to be the roughest of the lot! Most of the people on board got very seasick (lucky for Matt and I we were fine!) We arrived in Syros at about 2pm and most of us were starving so we headed out for some lunch. After that we went by bus to Syros town. Mark, Katrina, Melissa, Adrienne and I climbed up loads of stairs to an awesome view of the ocean and part of the island. At night we had alfresco nibbles but not too many drinks on the boat because of ... read more

i'm here!! yay, yay, yay!!! what more can i say!! arrived here on monday, i think, and leave on saturday. so i still have another whole day here in paros before i move on to naxos. it is gorgeous - of course. how could it not be. i'm in the greek islands - the thought still makes me giddy. sorry to everyone at home enjoying winter!! have done nothing here except swim and sunbake, which is basically all i planned to do. the water is gorgeous. crystal clear blue with white sand (haven't seen sand since australia). i'm staying at a camping ground right on the beach. i literally walk 20 metres, and i'm in the water. i'm camping, yes, actually in a tent and all. it's quite good actually. not the most comfortable but i ... read more

Matt and I decided to go out alone today to see what else we could explore on Mykonos. We first headed by bus to Paraga beach where we lapped up a magnificent view of the beach from a cool poolside bar. We then hiked our way round the mountains of rock to an amazing aerial view of Paradise beach where we had been yesterday. After that we caught a small boat to super paradise beach were we lay on two banana chairs under an umbrella which came at a price. Later we headed back to the boat and met the others, not before I had a nutella crepe on the way! We all went for a rooftop meal at a nice restaurant (mussels in creamy sauce mmmmmmmmm). ... read more

We arrived in Mykonos about 11:30 and went straight across the road to try and get ourselves some wheels (mopeds), but it was not to be. So we headed off by foot to Mykonos town to have some lunch. The service at the restaurant was terrible, we all thought we were getting hot chips with our toasted sandwiches but we got those french fry crisp things. Luke's meal came out a good twenty minutes after the rest of us finished. After that we got the bus to Paradise beach where it was all happening! Doof doof music, bikinis and sweaty bodies to boot! This was where it's at! The beach was just packed with party goers, there was a huge screen on the beach too. We pulled up some banana lounges and had a few drinks ... read more

I left Santorini yesterday. It was nice to finally leave the island, though it has been great, but I started feeling that I did nothing with these precious days of holiday, -except trying to get a little more brown, which is and always has been impossible for me! There were people it was sad to say goodbye to, but that's life and that's travelling. You meet so many people and some of them you are destined to like. All you can do afterwards is to hope that you might have a free week to visit them one day. Being on Santorini I've had quit some bad news and further. Except from the daily Pina Colada and other party-island traditions, I've had several talks with my mother and czech-airlines whom I really don't understand. I had been ... read more

A következő nap intenzív városnézéssel kezdődött az... read more

We arrived on the pretty island of Naxos. It had been a pleasant trip on the yacht. We decided to go for a bit of an explore. Some of the girls went for a look at the shops, while Matt, Mark, Dave, Jamie, Luke and I took a ten minute walk to a local beach. We went for a swim and then went for a stroll. On the way back we just had to buy an ice-cream. In the evening we had a communal meal on the yacht and then headed out to a cocktail bar where we enjoyed strawberry daiquiris, blue velvets and Matt had a Forest Gump. A great night was had by all! Before we went to bed, Matt and I took a stroll to see Naxos by night.... read more

well, i survived!!! i did the lovely 21 hour ferry trip from ancona, italy to patras, greece. it actually went very well surprisingly. much better than i expected. we had a group of 7 of us and we were pretty early so we stood in line, waiting for our turn to get on the boat. we had a very good set up in our little area, which was actually quite big compared to others. we had the cheapy deck tickets, which means you are outside and you don't have a designated seat. you are actually lucky to get a seat at all. we were in the best place possible on the boat, i think so anyway. we were in a covered area, with a few tables and about 10 chairs between us. it was great fun ... read more

The temperature at Kiotari was supposed to have been 123 degrees the day before. I had spent the day with the family crashed out by the swimming pool fighting with people of a certain nationality who had claimed the sunbeds at 12.30am by laying out their beach towels. And so I had hopped from one marble floor tile to another on my frequent visits to the 'all inclusive bar'. What we needed was something to cool us down and so on the Thursday we embarked upon the glass bottom boat that twice a day ploughs its way from Kiotari to Lindos and back. Being primarily a tourist attraction the price was a bit steep for a family of four but the boat trip was worth it if only for the chance to sit on the side ... read more
