i'm here!! yay, yay, yay!!! what more can i say!! arrived here on monday, i think, and leave on saturday. so i still have another whole day here in paros before i move on to naxos. it is gorgeous - of course. how could it not be. i'm in the greek islands - the thought still makes me giddy. sorry to everyone at home enjoying winter!! have done nothing here except swim and sunbake, which is basically all i planned to do. the water is gorgeous. crystal clear blue with white sand (haven't seen sand since australia).
i'm staying at a camping ground right on the beach. i literally walk 20 metres, and i'm in the water. i'm camping, yes, actually in a tent and all. it's quite good actually. not the most comfortable but i don't really care coz it's so close to the beach. i'm so glad i've got my lilo from the ferry. another odd thing, i have no friends. it's quite sad actually. it's the first time this whole trip that i know no one. it's actually what it was meant to be like a lot more often, but oh well. so paros has been just me and only me. no one speaks english where i am, so that may have something to do with it. although i did befriend 3 italian kids and played with them for a couple of days - so there you go, i was wrong, i do have friends.
i've been having gyros quite a lot. very odd kebab. pita bread, kebab meat, spanish onion, tomato, chips (as in fries - i know, how odd), tzatziki, tomato sauce and mustard!!! i don't know how though of it, but the combination is great, if a little odd.
oh another thing. i've had to ration my sunscreen so my tan is amazing. it's the equivelant of about 30 dollars for a normal 200ml bottle. crazy hey. no wonder everyone is so tanned. they can't afford sunscreen.
