We made it to Munich safe and sound! Our flight leaving Houston was delayed a little, but we made it up in the air. We had a 3 hour layover and then arrived in Munich to be greeted by Tanya & Wilson's smiling faces! We were very tired after our first leg, but since it was 1 pm when we arrived in Munich we decided to stay up all day to get on the right sleep schedule. We hopped back on the tram and took it to the Englischer Garden- the largest metropolitan park in Europe. We enjoyed the awesome old trees, ducks, and saw people *surfing* on the river in the park. We also saw some less enjoyable sights you'll have to ask us about =) We had a great walk around the park to ... read more

Today was another early morning as we have 3 countries today. We left Lucerne and made our way on the coach over to Mt. Stanserhorn. Arriving in the small town of Stans, we all got our funicular ticket that would take us all the way to the top of the mountain with views of the surrounding Alps. The entire group took this optional and we all boarded this little train that would take us to the furnicular. It was a very relaxing ride with cool crisp air mixed with the sounds of cowbells ringing in the distance. We then all got into a very tight squeezing funicular for the rest of the ride. Everytime the funicular dipped, I got a little uneazyness in stomach and some people let out a few gasps. For those in the ... read more

#PHEW!# So much has happened since the last time I blogged! We have absolutely GUNNED it halfway across Europe and kind of tried to pack as much into the short amount of time we've had as possible! In my mind, it's not the ideal speed at which to travel, but we're not the ones making the decisions- and it has been a good taster for future trips, anyway! We have arrived at München, which is overrun with Aussie and Kiwi yobs. It is a very sorry sight indeed, but slightly entertaining! (Mullets and handlebar moustaches everywhere!) Nevertheless, many a stein of beer will no doubt be consumed by us over the next couple of days. I can't really think of where to begin with what we've done up until now, so I might let the photos ... read more

so i had all intentions of leaving munich yesterday when i stumbled upon one of the best parts of an inner-city park i have ever seen...there is this waterfall in the middle of the English Gardens in Munich that took my breath away and before i knew it i had missed my train to Brussels my extra day in munich was really great though and i am glad i missed my train...i met a really cool couple from australia who are here on their honeymoon...we walked around munich all day and then ate dinner in one of munich´s biggest beer gardens...it seats a mere 4,000 beer-loving Bavarians...it was HUGE!!! today i finally am off again, headed now to amsterdam...unfortunately i will not get to see belgium on this trip so when i get home i guess ... read more

After we left the Concentration Camp this morning the pace changed and we drove past the place where the Sound of Music was filmed. It’s after 1.30pm and the fog’s still down over the ills, it’s very green and picturesque here. We went onto the Swarovski Crystal Show room where I bought a nice necklace. One we arrived in Munich itself we checked into our accommodation and ended up going to the Hofbrauhaus - the most famous beer hall in the World!! It’s massive!! It has live traditional music and there are a few people who choose to walk around in traditional dress! I had the pork knuckle with dumplings and sour croute which was massive and nice though!! I’m not really a pork fan, but I swear that it is the best piece of port ... read more

Now I am in Munich Germany. Got here yesterday and am staying in a room with several other really cool people, some from Canada, one from Germany, and a few from India...needless to say we are a very diverse bunch. Last night I hung out with 2 Dubliners who were some of the craziest guys i have ever met...it was great. Today I did a 5 hour tour of the city and am completely exhausted but heading out now to a bar crawl because its Munich and you can not pass up a good beer in this town because it is a big faux pas. My favorites in Munich are the royal residence (a huge building with tons of cool courtyards) and the English Gardens which is the biggest city park in all of Europe...it took ... read more

"Soweit dazu!" Morgen (Sa) gehts auf Richtung andalusische Halbinsel. ... read more
