We made it to Munich safe and sound! Our flight leaving Houston was delayed a little, but we made it up in the air. We had a 3 hour layover and then arrived in Munich to be greeted by Tanya & Wilson's smiling faces! We were very tired after our first leg, but since it was 1 pm when we arrived in Munich we decided to stay up all day to get on the right sleep schedule.
We hopped back on the tram and took it to the Englischer Garden- the largest metropolitan park in Europe. We enjoyed the awesome old trees, ducks, and saw people *surfing* on the river in the park. We also saw some less enjoyable sights you'll have to ask us about =) We had a great walk around the park to stretch our legs and enjoy the fresh 60 degree air.
Since it's the start of Oktoberfest we had to stop at the Biergarten and have some litres of beer, fresh pretzel, and German french fries (which are very good). We came back and had some Turkish kebap, and it's now 8:15 local time and we're still awake and I'm even able to type
Englischer Garten
Swimming isn't allowed on this river, so they try to stay on their board. a travelblog! It might be a few days before we post again, but enjoy some pics of our day and Tanya & Wilson's place.
