Ladies and Gentlemen, we are now ushering in the second month of the new year and all that it holds in ways of travelling. I haven´t quite hit the two month exactly but it´s coming around the corner and I feel a resurgence of energetic spirit and can I just say it? I´m hella excited!!! Thus far my February has been cold and grey but fun nonetheless. I spent a day at the coldest beach I´ve ever seen, nearly drove myself off a mountain, navigated through a snowstorm on back country roads in the dark, and crossed the border into the much-more-foreign land of Spain. All in a week´s work! But I suppose that is getting a little ahead of myself. I will backtrack. After my disappointing, or rather anticlimactic experience in Provence, I chose to ... read more

Hi everyone, I'm in the south of France close to Beziers. The area is absolutly magnificente. Between the sun, the feria, the beaches, the wonderfull landscapes, this is a place to go. I visited Roquebrun and its mediteraneen garden: a beautifull garden with a stunning view. I walked around the Ensure's oppidum. I had no idea what an oppidum was, so I googled it and it's a town from the roman time. I walked to the little church of Notre Dame des Auzils, with again some gorgeous views. I've done some kayak on the river Orb: a lot of fun, really relaxing time and again a nature absolutly exquisite. Obviously I've been to the Feria in Beziers. That was my first time there and I'll definitly do it again! Music, dance and drinks (not too much...) ... read more

I was looking forward to coming down south to be able to rest and not have to do something everyday. It was a bit of a struggle getting to our house with mums gps on her phone taking us through the smallest roads I’ve ever seen after being put on a detour. We eventually got to our house which is a nice three bedroom house with a pool but soon discovered there is no internet which is going to be a bit of a pain. The village where we are staying is tiny! There are a lot of vineyards here which we spent a few nights walking along the little tracks that went through them. It’s nice to relax here and be able to have proper food and home cooked meals. Our first day trip was ... read more

Beziers is a biggish town only 20min away from our village. It’s not the nicest town around its pretty old and run-down. They have a shopping centre there which is mostly outside but still reasonably nice. We went there a few times although the shops aren’t that great. Not a lot were even clothes shops. They had some nice restaurants on the top floor in the shade were we had lunch a few times. Another thing which was near Beziers was the canal de midi which was a series of seven locks that took the boats up twenty-one metres and took about half an hour. We arrived just in time to see two boats go up it. It was actually really interesting to watch. The boats had set times they were able to come through the ... read more

Bonjour, it is that time again when i give Shelley a break from amusing you with bathroom stories and traveling wit and i write a blog, after a couple of sun soaked days in Barcelona we have headed back up the coast to Beziers, After finding a nice campsite in Adge we decided to grab the site by the pool, this has turned out to be an error as the chorus of frogs,(not Frenchmen but actual frogs) in the pool has just started and they appear to have plenty to say, Barcelona was another amazing city and so different from the other major cities visited on this trip, the only common theme among them being the amount of people on motorbikes and scooters, while walking for what seemed like days (shelley said it was only 3 ... read more

Australia - Last Act The meaning of work in my life declines and other things gain more importance. Time ... read more
