Doors to the soul
What a great doorway...makes me wanna enter...to see what is inside. I have posted some of your pics in TB's "Doors, doors & more doors" thread in the Photography Forum. Check 'em out, Sylvia.

Doors to the soul
Hi Dave! Thanks for reading. We saw some beautiful doors in Morocco. So many in fact that I could devote a blog to them alone, LOL! Thank you so much for posting a couple of them in the Photo Forum on Doors!! Much appreciated!!

The joys of Marrakesh
A vibrant city that with amazing architecture. Some of our favorites foods are in Morocco. We always try to include Unesco world sites when we travel. You've really seen a lot.

The joys of Marrakesh
Hello Binkleys, thanks for your visit! Marrakesh certainly has a lot to offer whether you're a first time visitor or a repeat visitor it seems. We spent more time in Morocco than in any other country we've previously visited. Still have a few more days of traveling there to write about. Next up, the Ourika Valley.

Marvelous Marrakesh indeed!
Sounds like a good day exploring 'Marvelous Marrakesh', although a shame you were so rushed in places and that the Majorelle Gardens were overcrowded - I don't remember them being so when we visited (but that was ten years or so ago!) Your evening out sounds wonderful!

Marvelous Marrakesh indeed!
Thanks, Sarah. Yes, I would have liked to take a break in the morning just to have time to soak it all in, but we had much to accomplish that on that first full day. On our second full day we opted to spend the day in the Ourika Valley. On our 3rd day in Marrakesh we had lots of time to wander at will and we had a great day!

Bahia Palace
We loved our time at the Bahia Palace, and you're right - it's a great showcase of the architectural detail of that time. We never made it to the Majorelle Gardens as we were never up and about early enough to beat the crowds (despite our first hotel in Gueliz being quite close to it). Wow you certainly packed so much into one day, and I know how draining the heat in Marrakesh can be. Well done! :)

Bahia Palace
Hi Ren and Andrew, thanks for your visit! I was glad that we covered a lot of sights on our first day. Bahia Palace was amazing! Not being able to enjoy Marjorelle Gardens was a disappointment but one of very few on this trip. We had more time to ourselves in Marrakesh on our 3rd day so went back to the souks but it was still very hot!!

The colours of Morocco!
These colours and this part of Morocco it more strongly etched in my memory than most others. Such a glorious setting! Your food descriptions had me drooling... and your photos are beautiful :)

Hi Ren & Andrew, thanks for your visit and nice comments! The beautiful colors of various sights in Morocco are something I think I will never forget!!

haphazard patterns in their hurry or furry
Some of our most vivid memories are the images locked in the brain of chaotic traffic in exotic locales, near accidents but collisions miraculously avoided, taxi rides holding our breath on the edges of our seats. Sometimes if we are is preferring to stay in the hotel to catch our breath, the balconies are our view...cos without it we will ever wonder what we missed out on.

haphazard patterns in their hurry or fury
Hi Dave, I can remember a few taxi rides like that too -- definitely on the edge of our seats!! LOL!!

Marrakesh
I'm glad you've made it to Marrakesh because I'd booked a hotel there but never made it, so I'm really looking forward to you telling me what I missed. I can just imagine that roundabout. How do they manage in places like this without colliding with everybody - Not for me these days. Some great pictures again already Sylvia.

Marrakesh
Thanks for visiting and the nice comment, Malcolm. Shame you never made it Marrakesh. I can tell you that of the "big cities" we visited in Morocco, it was the most interesting in my personal opinion! We really enjoyed it! I really didn't expect the amount of traffic we saw here, yet it did all seem to work very well!! But the noise... wow!!

Marrakesh
A city with many faces. Part of the city is charming and other places seems like a circus. We enjoyed our time in Morocco. Thanks for taking us along.

Marrakesh
Thanks for continuing to follow my Morocco blog. Marrakesh definitely does seem like a city of contrasts. I was surprised to see the very modern side of it such as the Gueliz area we stayed in. With Marrakesh's continued growth and the influx of millions of tourists each year, I guess it's to be expected.

I like your view!
Like you I would enjoy watching the traffic below and I also really like the huge mural! A shame in a way though that you didn't get to stay in a riad in the old town. I'm looking forward to reading your impressions of the sights of Marrakesh!

I like your view!
Thanks for continuing to follow my Morocco blogs, Sarah! Funny what things draw your attention -- Rick liked watching the traffic even more thank I did. Although Opera Plaza Hotel lacked the Moroccan decor which I really like, it was extremely comfortable and was only a fairly short taxi ride from the medina. Luckily, we spent our last 2 nights in Morocco in a beautiful riad inside the city walls of Essaouira which I really enjoyed!!

Nothing wrong with a quiet night in ....
It just set you up well for the sensory overload of Marrakech that was to come!

Nothing wrong with a quiet night in ...
Thanks, Lesley!! That's so true! Sometimes I needed the rest more than I would like to admit. I was overwhelmingly tired some evenings for the first week and couldn't even lift a pen to journal!! Thank heaven for photos and memories!

Good remembrance
I liked last couple of lines regarding remembering only the good things of the travel. I also follow the same, though my travels are in my home country, India. Thanks for the excellent coverage of Bulgaria especially the Cultural and Architectural aspects.

Good remembrance
Bharat Kadge, Thank you for your nice comment. We enjoyed visiting Bulgaria very much. There is quite a lot to see and do there and well worth a trip to visit it. I hope you may get the opportunity to visit there one day!

Without noise
What a great name for a town. Allows one to immerse in the colours and humanity that is the heartthrob of this Moroccan town and filter out unnecessary noise to embrace why it has its name. How wonderful you could have that opportunity Sylvia.

Without noise
Thanks, Dave! A great name, indeed! I'm not so sure it's really without noise now with all the tourists, but it is a very unique place to say the least!
