Bulgaria 2019

Plovdiv, Bulgaria was the chosen site for the 2019 VT Euromeet. We flew into Sofia and spent a couple of days there taking a free walking tour and explored on our own. Then traveled by train south to Plovdiv. Had a great walking tour of Old Town and Kapana. The Roman Theater and Ampitheater are especially well preserved. Had some wonderful meals in Plovdiv. Especially enjoyed the coffee and desserts at the Dhuzmaya Mosque Cafe. From Plovdiv we also visited Koprivshtitsa, Starosel, Staro Zhelazare, and Assenovgrad where we visited Assen's Fortress and the Bachkovo Monastery. Trained back to Sofia where we spent a final night before flying home.
