Costa Rica - 2012

Trip began with 3 nights on our own in Costa Rica's capital, San Jose, which was a good introduction to the country. In addition to seeing sites in the city, we booked a Coffee Tour to the Britt plantation. Leaving the city behind, we visited Braulio Carrillo National park in the rainforest, the Selva Tropical Butterfly Garden, and took a motorboat down the Cano Blanco to Tortuguero for 2 nights. Leaving the coastline we traveled on to La Fortuna and Volcano Arenal for 3 nights. Did the most terrifying zipline at SkyTrek, visited the nearby hot springs, painted with members of the Malenku tribe, spotted only 1 Toucan, and went white water rafting on the Sarapiqui River which was one of the most wonderful parts of the trip. Enjoyed the Costa Rican people, the culture and definitely the food and music!
