In Amsterdam, The Netherlands! We took a train here this morning and unfortunately it was the wrong one. This was good because it was twice as fast as the one we were supposed to take, but bad because it was an extra 18 Euro when the ticket checker guy found out. Oh well, at least we learned the whole "different trains" thing with an $18 fine instead of a $50. After we found our hostel we had some Chinese food which was alright. The rest of the day has consisted of playing cards and hanging out. All 3 of us were pretty tired and so we're showering and stuff and going to turn in early today. We said goodbye to our good friends in Brugge. I love meeting new people...it's definitely something I'm not used to ... read more

Okay so this is officially one of my favorite cities EVER. Kate AND Ian AND Dillon here, by the by. Last night we met a couple from Chile who are in the room next to us. They're super nice and Ian gets to practice his Spanish, because they speak verrrrry little English. We also met a lady from Italy who was really sweet too, so we stayed up pretty late in the little common room area chatting it up. Brugge. Damn. This place is one of the most beautiful quaint little cities I have ever been too. It is like walking into the past, a place I will definately come back too. We found a place that served 44 different kinds of hot chocolate and it was delicious. Super rich though so we actually didn't buy ... read more

Kate here...is that any surprise? ;) Well last night was fun at the hostel. Here's a funny story for ya. Dillon was down in the common area drinking, and Ian and I had called it a night and were in our room watching The Office on the iPod. There was one other guy up there too, and he was also in bed. We hear someone fumbling around with the door trying to open it (you need a key), and we figured it was Dillon, drunk. So I go to open it and the other guy was laughing and says "No, let's see how long it takes him!" so the three of us don't help him and we just (loudly) laugh at him through the door calling him names and whatnot. We hear "come on, guys, my ... read more

Hi! Kate here! Well, to ease everyone's mind, the three of us are together! The boys got to our hotel in London around 11:15 AM yesterday. We hung out with my mom for about 45 minutes while they got cleaned up (boy did they smell like sweat! Haha!) and then we said bye to her! We found our hostel in London without much trouble and ate some pizza. Then we headed into the main part of London (Westminster, actually), and rode the London Eye which was pretty cool, had some great views. Then we went to a pub and had some dinner and drinks. They introduced me to a REALLY good alcoholic cider that was way better than the delicious Strongbow we'd been drinking so that was nice. ALTHOUGH the boys were rushing me (I'm a ... read more

I'm in the lobby of our hotel waiting for the boys so I figured I'd update. The day before yesterday mom and I said goodbye to most of our tour mates and headed on a double decker hop on, hop off London tour. We saw everything of London like Big Ben, Parliament, the London Eye, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, London Tower, Buckingham Palace, the Horse Guards, Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus, etcetcetc. We had lunch at a little place called Garfunkels...it was yummy. That took most of the day, and then yesterday we went on the Windor Castle, Stonehenge, and Oxford tour. Windsor castle was great... it's where the Queen resides. The flag flown above the castle tells whether or not she's there. A Union Jack flag means she's away, and then her personal crest flag means ... read more

We finished up Scotland today I guess. Last night we did a super freaky ghost tour in a graveyard/prison where I almost had a panic attack. Dillon and I were both freaking out. It was great, this place has the most documented cases of the paranormal. Walked around the city a lot, people feel it is mundane but I love it. Well, we need to wake up at 3:30 am tomorrow to make our plane to London to see Kate and Carol which I am very excited about. So, cheerio! Short enough dad?... read more

Hmm, sorry for the inactivity, we have been pretty busy or just tired. I think I'll pick up from Ireland. Galway was an amazing city in which we had tons of fun, got in a fight with a drunk irish marine ( which we won without trying because he took one swing at me while my back was turned and dillon blocked it then defended himself easily) and this man was very drunk and harassing some friends we had made, so we stepped in. No biggy really. So we flew out of Galways to Glasgow, Scotland and nearly missed the train to Inverness. Literally we ran the entire way then dillon had to throw his body and pry the doors open to get us through. We decided not to sleep in Glasgow because we heard so ... read more

Kate here. Again. Wow, Ian's really lacking on this isn't he? Haha I'll make him update more when we meet up, I promise. :P So today was the last day of our tour. Biggest bummer of the trip yet: Stonehenge was closed. Just so happens that yesterday was the Summer Solstice and a lot of pagans make the trek to Stonehenge to celebrate. That's all fine and dandy, seeing as their festival is at night, so it shouldn't have bothered us. However, they made SUCH a mess with all of their rubbage (that's trash, to you folks, haha), that the police shut the park down today. Any pagan I have ever met has been SUPER concerned with littering/taking care of the earth, so it surprised me. LAME. We DID drive past it though so I managed ... read more

Hello! (Kate here) So I'm blogging to you from Glasgow, Scotland. It's a fairly big city, and it's not-so-clean. I'm not a big fan, but the internet is free so hey, I'll take it. Let's see if I can remember where I left off. Two days ago, we left Edinburgh and drove into the Scottish Highlands. Lots of sheep...really cute, and some funny looking Highland Cows. We stayed at a little Bed and Breakfast which was gorgeous (pictures to come when I burn another CD). Then we left there this morning and drove past Loch Ness and Loch Lommond into Glasgow. Nothing too exhilirating but the scenery is breathtaking. Here are some things I've found interesting about Scotland. 1. Men wear kilts like it's no big deal. As I speak, a bunch of teenage looking youngsters ... read more
