Geo: 46.2324, 7.35849We picked up our car and headed out into the French countryside. It is very green and hilly. Our ar looks real cool. We stopprd at Mont Blanc, which is the tallest mountain in Europe. We went up a ski lift to get a good view. Then we drove to Sion to find a room. Some hotels were full , but we found one and checked in. This is a cute little town. The next morning, we headed outto Zermatt. It was about an hour drive to get there. You hve to park your car in Tasch and take a train to Zermatt. We then got on a lift to go to the top of a smaller mountain to view the Matterhorn. At the top people were skiing. It was freezing! Geo: 46.2038, 6.13996We arrived in Geneva after an hour delay in Washington, due to a faulty a/c unit on our plane. They found another plane at another gate and off we went. Sleeping on the plane didn't go very well for either of us. We arrived in Geneva about 9:30AM. We took a cab to our hotel and found out that I had made the reservation for the day before! Luckily, they had rooms available. Of course, some poeple would call it a large closet, rather than a room. It has an RV style bathroom. But it is comfortable. We checked in and promptly took a nap. After we got up and unpacked, we went donstairs to find out how we could get to downtown Geneva. The only way is to take a cab(40 Swiss francs). ... read more

Geo: 37.2472, -112.664We arrived late in the afternoon at Arrowhead Cabins for a 3 night stay. We had a huge lunch at 2:30 and were't sure if we needed dinner. Tomorrow, we head for Zion National Park for the day. We got up early, well early for us, 8:00AM. We had an excellent breakfast at our cabin and headed out to Zion National Park. What a beautiful place! We parked the car at the visitor's center and got on the shuttle bus. It took us up to the Temple of Sinawava. There we hiked back to where the canyon got real narrow. We then hiked up to the Weeping Wall, which is an area of porous rock that water flows through, creating a kind of hanging garden. We then did the Grotto trail back to the ... read more

Geo: 36.0262, -112.136We checked in late in the afternoon and went and had dinner. After dinner, we went over towards Bright Angel Lodge for our first glimpse of the canyon. I led Stacy to the edge of the canyon where there was no fence. She looked up and just about freaked out. We hiked around for a little while, waiting for sunset to come so we could get some good photos. We saw a pair of Condors flying around the cliffs. They are huge, wingspans over 10 feet. The next morning, we got breakfast and headed out toward the west side of the park by bus to take in all of the sites there. We hiked around for a few hours, took the bus back, went back to our room for a quick nap, then showers ... read more

Geo: 34.8408, -111.776We stayed in Las Vegas for 2 nights. Saturday night was packed, people everywhere. We went and saw Cirque De Soleil, Myster'e. It was excellent! On Sunday night, we went and saw the Blue Man Group. The were hilarious!! Did I spell that right? We left on Monday morning and headed to Sedona. It was a long drive, but very scenic. We got to our hotel and called the McIntyres and went over to their condo. It is a very nice place. Mike barbequed some chicken kabobs and Ann made the rest of the meal. We also had some wine. It was a great home cooke meal. After dinner we did a little touring with them before calling it a night. The next morning, we met them for breakfast and then went touring around ... read more

Geo: 36.0846, -115.172So, we left on Wednesday and drove to Bishop, Ca. and spent the night. We drove out to Death Valley National Park on Thursday. What a strange place. Not what we expected at all. We thought there would be lots of sand dunes and not so many mountains. We drove to our cabin at Furnace Creek Ranch and checked in. We know why they call it that. It was 102 degrees! We went for a drive and stopped at Badwater Basin, which is 282 Ft. below sea level. We then proceeded to Artists Drive and Artist's Pallette, which is a whole canyon in many colors. We then went to the Golden Canyon trail and hiked for a little bit. It was too hot for hiking, so we went back to our cabin and went ... read more

Geo: 46.1382, -122.938Well, we made it across to Port Angeles without a hitch. Customs was a breeze. We then headed south towards Olympia, Washington. We found a hotel for the night. On Wednesday morning, we headed for Mount Rainier National Park. It was not a clear day, so we couldn't get any pics of the entire mountain. The top was covered in clouds. After visiting the information center, we headed for Mount St. Helens. That was a longer drive than we had figured. Its a good thing we decided to stop for gas as we never would have made it. We thought it was about 25 miles to the visitor center but it turned out to be 58 miles. We got there just an hour before it closed.Tomorrow, we are going to blitz down I-5 thru ... read more
