Geo: 37.2472, -112.664We arrived late in the afternoon at Arrowhead Cabins for a 3 night stay. We had a huge lunch at 2:30 and were't sure if we needed dinner. Tomorrow, we head for Zion National Park for the day. We got up early, well early for us, 8:00AM. We had an excellent breakfast at our cabin and headed out to Zion National Park. What a beautiful place! We parked the car at the visitor's center and got on the shuttle bus. It took us up to the Temple of Sinawava. There we hiked back to where the canyon got real narrow. We then hiked up to the Weeping Wall, which is an area of porous rock that water flows through, creating a kind of hanging garden. We then did the Grotto trail back to the ... read more

Geo: 36.0262, -112.136We checked in late in the afternoon and went and had dinner. After dinner, we went over towards Bright Angel Lodge for our first glimpse of the canyon. I led Stacy to the edge of the canyon where there was no fence. She looked up and just about freaked out. We hiked around for a little while, waiting for sunset to come so we could get some good photos. We saw a pair of Condors flying around the cliffs. They are huge, wingspans over 10 feet. The next morning, we got breakfast and headed out toward the west side of the park by bus to take in all of the sites there. We hiked around for a few hours, took the bus back, went back to our room for a quick nap, then showers ... read more

Geo: 34.8408, -111.776We stayed in Las Vegas for 2 nights. Saturday night was packed, people everywhere. We went and saw Cirque De Soleil, Myster'e. It was excellent! On Sunday night, we went and saw the Blue Man Group. The were hilarious!! Did I spell that right? We left on Monday morning and headed to Sedona. It was a long drive, but very scenic. We got to our hotel and called the McIntyres and went over to their condo. It is a very nice place. Mike barbequed some chicken kabobs and Ann made the rest of the meal. We also had some wine. It was a great home cooke meal. After dinner we did a little touring with them before calling it a night. The next morning, we met them for breakfast and then went touring around ... read more

Geo: 36.0846, -115.172So, we left on Wednesday and drove to Bishop, Ca. and spent the night. We drove out to Death Valley National Park on Thursday. What a strange place. Not what we expected at all. We thought there would be lots of sand dunes and not so many mountains. We drove to our cabin at Furnace Creek Ranch and checked in. We know why they call it that. It was 102 degrees! We went for a drive and stopped at Badwater Basin, which is 282 Ft. below sea level. We then proceeded to Artists Drive and Artist's Pallette, which is a whole canyon in many colors. We then went to the Golden Canyon trail and hiked for a little bit. It was too hot for hiking, so we went back to our cabin and went ... read more

Geo: 46.1382, -122.938Well, we made it across to Port Angeles without a hitch. Customs was a breeze. We then headed south towards Olympia, Washington. We found a hotel for the night. On Wednesday morning, we headed for Mount Rainier National Park. It was not a clear day, so we couldn't get any pics of the entire mountain. The top was covered in clouds. After visiting the information center, we headed for Mount St. Helens. That was a longer drive than we had figured. Its a good thing we decided to stop for gas as we never would have made it. We thought it was about 25 miles to the visitor center but it turned out to be 58 miles. We got there just an hour before it closed.Tomorrow, we are going to blitz down I-5 thru ... read more

Geo: 48.4644, -123.38Well, we made it over to Vancouver Island. The ferry ride was uneventful. It was cloudy and cool that day. We drove to our condo in Parksville. It was pretty nice, right on the ocean. We drove north that afternoon and looked around. The next day we drove to Tofino on the west side of the island. It was a long drive, but worth it. On Sunday, we drove towards Victoria. We made a stop in Sooke so I could go on a zip line. Well it wasn't just one zip line , but 7 zip lines all the way down this huge hill! The longest was 1000 feet. The rest varied from 200 to 600 feet. Sometimes we were about 175 feet up in the air! It was pretty scary. There were some ... read more

Geo: 49.321, -123.074We left Jasper on Wednesday morning. It rained pretty hard for a while and then cleared a bit. We made pretty good time. Apparently we really beat the crowds. The roads are empty. We go for about a half an hour before we encounter any cars. The roads are great, smooth and quick. The Infiniti is fun to drive. Passing is very easy and quick. We tried to find a moose to photograph, but alas did not find any. We stopped in Savona for the night. We stayed at the Lakeside Inn. It is right on Lake Savona. Because its so slow this time of year, we got a free upgrade to a lake view room with a balcony. The place is really nice. While eating our dinner at a local restaurant, a huge ... read more

Geo: 52.8736, -118.083Well, we made it to Jasper National Park. What a beautiful drive. Snow capped peaks on either side of the road. We stopped at the Colombia Icefields visitors center and decided to come back another day to do the glacier trip. We did a little hiking on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday it was a sunny day, so we decided to go to the Athabasca Glacier and do the bus tour out onto it. It was really cool! Not cold, even though we were standing on ice a thousand feet thick. We also stopped at Athabasca Falls and Sunwapta Falls. We saw more elk and bears, too. On Monday, we hiked around Lake Annette and had a picinic lunch. We saw 2 eagles in the tress right above us. They both took off across the ... read more
