Zoe Today is the last day in Barcelona We are really starting to get into Spanish time. At 11 o'clock we had breakfast. At a really nice bakery across the road. I had a croissant with chocolate filling, not really a healthy breakfast, but we're on holidays. After breakfast we went to Camp Nou and if you don't know what the is it is the soccer stadium for FCB (Football Club Barcelona). We went there for a early birthday present for my dad's 50th. Yes! He is almost 5o. On the 19th of September 1967, Dean Yates was born. Anyway, there were no soccer matches on and when there are no matches on they open up the stadium for the public, there is also a museum. At the museum there were all the trophies the Barcelona ... read more

Day 7 Bella We started the day with dad going to the bakery on our street and bring home croissants with chocolate sprinkles on top. We Walked to the Olympic park and I was in charge of the map and fortunately I got us the right way. There were names of Olympic people, shoutout to Sasha because Roger Federer was there! We Came back to the apartment said bye to Franziska, we were all really sad and we waved good bye to her from our balcony. Because we don't have a car, we use the train to get everywhere so we got it to lunch. We Caught the funicular train to the cable car place and went on a hill where there was a massive castle and fort with an art exhibition in it on white ... read more

Zoe "Everything you can image is real" -Picasso It's Franziska's last full day in Barcelona, so we want to make it fun for her. First we went to Museu Picasso. Which has lots of Picasso's paintings in it. Does anyone know what Picasso's full name is and how many words it is? If you want to find out keep reading until the end. Bella and I had kids headphones on. This helped us understand more about the painting and what's the story behind them. Mum (Kym) also had headphones but hers were for the adults. Next to the paintings there was a little sign, one would have headphones and a number in it and below it was headphones with a face and a number next to it. The one with a face indicated that it was ... read more

Day 5 By Bella I woke up early in our apartment in Barcelona. Everyone else was asleep so I snuck in some technology time on my ipad till everyone woke up. We didn't really have breakfast we just had some bread then we put on our bathers and caught a bus to the beach. There was a little food place there so we had brunch. We were at the beach for about 3 or 4 hours. I had heaps of fun in the water with dad and Zoe. There were sharp rocks under our feet in the water. I had fun going over the waves. The beach in Spain is different because there are people with no tops on. Then we went to another little place for ice cream. It was so delicious, it had so ... read more

Zoe Today we took a train into Barcelona. We arrived at the train station and it was beautiful. There was greenery everywhere. It was really fast and took 3 hours. It travelled at over 200 kilometers per hour. There was a beautiful view of the lovely country side. It was a very lovely train. When we arrived in Barcelona and took a cab to our apartment. It is very nice and here is an amazing view of the city. It is also walking distance to the metro. Mum and dad (Kym and Dean) have a double bed. Bella has a single bed and made Franziska and I share a double bed, but in Austria we did the same so I don't mind. After that went to the park and had a run around. Then mum said ... read more

We started the day at home and went to a market called Mercado de San Miguel. It had a lot of different food. I chose two salami and tomato baguettes and a cone of real potato chips. We walked to a park and on the way Daddy and I went on a two story carousel. We went on a carriage that rocked side to side. The park had paddle boats, it was called Parque del Buen Retiro. I read a book called the Land of Stories (thanks William) on a picnic rug next to the lake on a grassy hill. Because you only had 45 minutes on the boat, Zoe and I swapped places. I saw dead fish in the lake and real fish and a turtle. Daddy let me row and I was really good ... read more

By Zoe Have you ever dreamed of waking up in the heart of Madrid? Well if you haven't it will be your next dream after reading this. When I woke up I had a shower. While I was in the shower my dad (Dean) popped up to the shops to get breakfast. After breakfast we went to the market. It has lots of things to choose from. There was seafood, a butcher, a bakery, a cafe a pub and many more. All in one big shop. Then we walked down to the Madrid Hop-On-Hop-Off bus tour. It took us to the art gallery, Reina Sofia. We saw lots of painting, some were very famous and others were not. The famous paintings included lots of Picasso like The Woman Dressed in Blue, Guernica and many more. We ... read more

Day 1 Madrid Our apartment is on the third floor of a very old building it has a very crooked staircase and we were told to be quiet when we went in and out of it.We have a balcony looking down at a restaurant and looking forward at another apartment. In Spain I don't think I saw one house, there all cute apartments that look the same .In our apartment there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed that mum and dad sleep on with an ensuite and a tiny study with a window that you hang your laundry on the washing lines and it is a pulley system. The other room has two single beds one with a shelf which was a bit higher than mine for Zoe and because it is so high ... read more

Zoe We have arrived in Spain after 24 hours of plane travel. We caught 2 planes, the first plane was 14 hours then we stopped at Dubai for a lovely breakfast in the first class lounge. Our second flight was 10 hours I did not sleep at all. Let's just say that I have grown a lot from the last plane trip. Two years ago when we went to Germany I was able to curl up in a little ball or lie across mum and dads lap to sleep. But now I am to tall to do all that so I had 2 hours of sleep on the plane. When we arrived in Spain and took a cab to our apartment. When we arrived at our apartment we got dressed and went out for some lunch. ... read more

By Bella On Sunday we did lots of things . In the morning we had breakfast and then we met mum at the Spanish steps. We went to the Trevi fountain. It was being being repaired.
