Today is the last day in Barcelona
We are really starting to get into Spanish time. At 11 o'clock we had breakfast. At a really nice bakery across the road. I had a croissant with chocolate filling, not really a healthy breakfast, but we're on holidays.
After breakfast we went to Camp Nou and if you don't know what the is it is the soccer stadium for FCB (Football Club Barcelona). We went there for a early birthday present for my dad's 50th. Yes! He is almost 5o. On the 19th of September 1967, Dean Yates was born. Anyway, there were no soccer matches on and when there are no matches on they open up the stadium for the public, there is also a museum. At the museum there were all the trophies the Barcelona had won. We also had family photos done of us in front of a green screen and they would photoshop the players in the background. Some photos we didn't need to be photoshopped because there was a lovely background of the stadium. There was also a mega gift shop and when I say mega I mean
mega, it was THREE story's high. Yes! Three story's.
Next we went out for lunch. But there was one problem, it was 5 o'clock. We are really getting in to Spanish time. For lunch we had bread with tomato and calamari.
Next we went to Casa De Les Punxes. Casa De Les Punxes is a mansion. We got to discover the background of Spain through different exhibits and there were towers in the corners. We all had the audio guides and they had sensors in them so when we entered a room it would started the talking and the talking would match the screen. We learned about the legend of Saint George.
For dad's birthday we also got him a tour with us to La Pedrear. La Pedrear is an amazing apartment block designed by Gaudi. Gaudi loved nature. The apartment block has no straight lines in it. If you think about it nature has no straight lines in it either. The tour was very good and interesting. The lift takes 7 minutes to get to the 4th floor! Our tour started at 8:30, so it was really dark, so we
had a light show on the rooftop. The roof top was really cool, again no straight lines. There was also a free cocktail you got at the end. Bella and I got orange juice. There is a funny story about this trip. Gaudi has designed two apartment buildings. Dad really wanted to the see on of them so mum booked a tour for it. Then she got a email saying which train station to get off at. It was a different station to what she planned. Then she realized that she had booked the wrong one!!! But it was still good.
Then we went out for dinner. At a pizza place. We didn't have real Spanish food because it was 10:30 at night and we were really tired. Pizza is quick and easy to have.
