Dreamchasers 2017: Responding to the Call of Travel Yet Again

For my entire life, travel has been more of a vocation, a calling, than a choice. Foreign places and cultures have intrigued me since I was a child. My desire to travel directly influenced my choices of study - foreign languages, sociology, and literature. Travel defined my career as a educator, and has influenced the music I have written as a singer/songwriter. Travel has also kept me living in a modest home, and driving modest vehicles by Canadian standards. It has indeed been a powerful calling which I could not deny, and one which I have been honoured to share with my husband and Dreamchaser soul mate, Stan.

And so the call to travel will be heard again this winter, when we will explore new territories for about half of our travel time - in Southern Thailand, Northern Sulawesi and Java, Indonesia, and Taipei, Taiwan - as well as returning to familiar places in Lombok, Bali and Flores, Indonesia. Yoga, language study, and diving the underwater marine parks will shape our travel destination choices, but always, our ultimate objective will be to collect and share as many smiles as we can along the way.
