Hello People, Morning; We tried to have a lie in this morning, but some inconsiderate people in the dorm were making continuous noise for ages before 6am grrrrr. After queuing for the shower, we went for our free breakfast in the hostel (just jam, bread and juice but it was free. We didn’t have to check out until noon, so we hung around a bit, repacking our bags ready for the trip and using the Wi-Fi. The hostel tried to charge us double the price when we checked out, but luckily we had the receipt from booking.com to prove how much we had to pay. Once we checked out of this hostel we moved just one block down the road to ‘Prisma Hotel’ where our STA travel tour is starting today at 16.30. We are staying ... read more

Hey People, After a bit of a lie in, we were both feeling a little better, the head-ache was gone but still short on breath if I climbed the stairs or the ladder on to the top bunk-I feel very unfit! The free breakfast was just bread and jam so Neil got some scrambled eggs to have as well, which he shared with me!!! This morning we followed the Lonely Planet city tour, which was about 4km around all the main sites, markets and little alleys. There are great craft shops with the colourful blankets, bags, hair bobbles-any accessory but with gorgeous multiple coloured patterns. I really wanted a huge blanket for £12, which is so cheap, but it is just carrying it. I will get one before I go but am going to wait until ... read more

Hi all, After a 14-hour night bus from Nazca, we finally arrived in Cusco. When we woke up about 7am we could feel the difference in altitude-horrible! Headache, slight shortness of breath, to go with the achiness of being on a bus that long wasn’t the best feeling!! We received a free toasty on the bus but I couldn’t stomach anything. When the bus arrived at 11.30am we negotiated a taxi price to our hostel (we already knew the going rate so we started a bit lower anyway-in Spanish I might add J). Unfortunately when we arrived at the hostel we had to wait another 2 hours before we could check in and shower. We were both feeling light headed and just wanted to stretch out and sleep on a bed. After waiting we got in ... read more

Hello All, We woke up in our own room (with own shower room-luxury) in Nazca. We decided not to eat any breakfast as warned not to before the flight over the Nazca lines can be a little nauseating. The included pick-up for the flight arrived at 9am, which took us a few miles away to the prop-plane airport. Apparently as it was cloudy this morning our flight was delayed for 1h30, so it allowed us enough time to watch the Nazca Lines documentary video twice. It was a little annoying because we were told not to eat before the flight, so as soon as we could do the flight meant we could eat-and we were starving! The flight was incredible. 30 minutes flying over the different patterns and animals, with live commentary from the co-pilot. We ... read more

Hi Family and friends, We woke up at 0600 and tried to be as quiet as possible as we didn’t want to wake anyone, well only this one girl who coughed all night and kept everyone awake, she didn’t even have the courtesy to get water till I started tutting loudly!!! Our taxi turned up on time and getting to and onto the bus was easy. We were travelling with Oltursa, this was recommended by the receptionist and he said it was the only company he used, it was a big more expensive than the cheapest company but it was well worth it!!! It was a 5 star bus with 180-degree reclining seats and got a free breakfast and lunch!!! We were so impressed!!! We got into Nazca around 1500 and got picked up by our ... read more

Hello Bloggers, I woke up with a little hangover this morning, WARNING: watch out for those Pisco sours!!! Vick looked after me in the night walking me to the toilet after I apparently tried weeing in the middle of the dorm!!! We had our free breakfast; it was poor just bread and jam with coffee and tea. We planned with a girl from our dorm and one of the American lads I was drinking with the night before to go to the Lima art museum, which was opposite the hostel. It was ok only 4 soles with a student card and it had a lot of Nazca and Peruvian artifacts but was mostly in Spanish so hard to understand things, still worth going. We left the other two and got on the number 302 bus to ... read more

Hi All, So we arrived in Lima airport at 2pm, it was a lot hotter than we thought, lucky I still had shorts on and Vicky had about 4 layers so she was really hot!! Once we got our bags we found Vick’s bag had been tampered with as the pad lock wasn’t through the metal hooks of the bag but just through the material of the zip straps. She wasn’t too annoyed because she didn’t have anything in their at all worth stealing or that she couldn’t replace. It turns out that her bag had been chosen for a through inspection at the LAX airport whilst going through there own large luggage scans. There was a little leaflet inside stating that it isn’t their fault if they break the pad-lock and that the scans are ... read more

North America June 7th 2015

Hi All, This is our second 7-6-15 thanks to the date line!!! We arrived at LAX airport at 13.30 after an 11 and a half hour flight. We had to pick up our luggage from the conveyer belt, which was really annoying as we wanted to pop out for the day and hoped our bags would be check straight through but couldn’t re check our bags in until 20.30!! They also don’t have any bag storage here and we didn’t fancy lugging then around with us. We are back here in 3 months so we’re not missing out but it means a very long wait until our flight at 00.15! All afternoon we read and watched episodes of shows and films. As we couldn’t check-in our bags it meant we couldn’t even wait in the duty ... read more

Hi All, This is a week in one as we didn't do enough everyday to write one lol!!! Fiji Experience Malolo Island-Funky Fish Resort: 7 nights We had a lovely relaxing week reading, eating and lying by the pool. It was great but it didn’t feel like a true Fiji resort, as it didn’t have the most important thing: a white sandy beach! We were a little bit disappointed with the mud & rock beach as we are staying on the one island (Malolo) for the week to recharge instead of the alternative, which is to island hop for the week. On our morning before we arrived, we bought lots of food (onions, oil, garlic, pasta etc) to cook some of our own meals to keep costs down whilst here (food is cheaper on the main ... read more
