Day 207 Peru, Nazca to Cusco.

Hi all,



After a 14-hour night bus from Nazca, we finally arrived in Cusco. When we woke up about 7am we could feel the difference in altitude-horrible! Headache, slight shortness of breath, to go with the achiness of being on a bus that long wasn’t the best feeling!! We received a free toasty on the bus but I couldn’t stomach anything.



When the bus arrived at 11.30am we negotiated a taxi price to our hostel (we already knew the going rate so we started a bit lower anyway-in Spanish I might add J). Unfortunately when we arrived at the hostel we had to wait another 2 hours before we could check in and shower. We were both feeling light headed and just wanted to stretch out and sleep on a bed.



After waiting we got in to the 8 bed shared dorm room and watched a film. We didn’t feel like going far at all today! We popped out about 6pm for some food-I had a comforting spag-bol and Neil had a Pizza, whilst watching the end of the Paraguay-Argentina football match.



We played a few games of pool in the evening but I still had a stinking headache so we went to bed fairly early. This is always disturbed sleep as people form the dorm, are always coming in and out. I didn’t sleep well because the bar music was so so loud until 3am! And as this is a hostel catering for people doing a trek, there are always people leaving the dorm from 5am.



Feeling low 😞
