(Ok now. Hmm) We are on the road again. We have 7 hours and 443 miles under our tires. We picked up the kids from school Tuesday at the end of the day. We were hoping for another extra day off Wednesday for Cheerleading Championship win. We didn't get it on Wednesday this year. It is in April sometime. We needed to get on the road as early as possible so we took the chance. Though, I did forget to call Amy McCloud to tell her the kids were going to be ... read more

Geo: 42.5459, -83.2155We are about to embark on our 4th roadtrip tour of the USA. Once again we are very excited. Even the kids LOVE the roadtrips. They never complain about going. It is one of the greatest things we are doing as a family. This year will be a little different. We are going down south to and through Ohio, Tennesee, Kentucky (stop), Alabama (stop), Mississippi, Louisiana (stop), Florida (stop), Georgia (stop) and then home. We are going during Spring Break this year because we thought it would be too hot and steamy in the summer. We have a little longer Spring Break so we thought it would be a good time to go (and get to some warm weather). To make up for our summer trip, we have (insanely) rented an RV to do ... read more

When you are at the end, you want to just get home. It's a mental thing. If we knew we had another stop, we'd be good with it but since we know its over, we want to just get home.On the way, we stopped in Louisville at Churchill Downs. I have a bucket list wish to go to the Kentucky Derby someday wearing a big hat. Until then, this will do. We didn't want to stay long or do any tours so we went to the gift shop for post cards. Did I mention that the kids write themselves postcards in every state and send them ... read more

You will get lost here. It is a maze of really cool atriums, water features, plantations, boats, etc. The kids love this place, especially Ben. The people who work here are so nice too. Paul went to get the tire fixed this morning which he said was easy peasy. He's a good man Charlie Brown. We spent the entire day poolside having fruity drinks and burgers and swimming. It was HOT. It was cool. Looks like most but gigantic. There are the typical fishponds only way bigger. They actually have pontoon boats in the water. They have alligators. It has an elevator in the middle that goes to the top to an observation deck. Yes we are boring as we did not feel it necessary to pay 10 dollars a person to see Memphis from the top of a pyramid. The kids didn't show interest either. ... read more

We are not Elvis fans and we weren't excited to go but it is one of those bucket list or boxes to be checked off. It is pretty expensive to go, too. We got the minimum 1.5 tour for $36 a person (there are no rides). It is an ipad tour. You start on one side of the road and they drive you onto Graceland property. I was surprised there weren't any Elvis crazies. The tour was actually pretty cool. We went through the whole house (well not the sacred upstairs.), his grounds and the racketball court. We got a really late start and actually had breakfast around 11. It was a rainy day in Oklahoma. We drove most of the day in the rain. It was pretty dreary but thats ok. We have had so many perfect days. Strangely, when we were heading into Little Rock, we literally drove out from under the weather cloud line into sunny 90 degree weather. No rain in Little Rock. That is late for hotels for us. Mostly because we like to boogie out early. We were tired, I guess. We stayed at the Courtyard downtown Amarillo. We had an enormous room that was really nice even though we got in late and didn't really enjoy it. We were slightly apprehensive of the parking in Amarillo but we didn't even know if it was safe or unsafe. Clearly, it was fine because no one broke into our car.
