Hi followers. Just thought I would give you a couple last pictures taken at Bermagui before we move on to Merimbula. Some great scenery up around the Blue Pool AND our mate "hoppy" the seagull who was trying to get the sympathy vote while we were down at the harbour eating fish and chips. If you take note, we nick named him hoppy as he only has one leg and even that leg has no foot. Just goes to show you they can overcome anything and still lead a fulfilling life. Something many of us humans should take into account. A bit disappointed of the sea in the photo of Lyn at the Blue Pool. Where is a decent wave when I need it. Enjoy.... read more

Hi blog followers. Today (I think it is Sunday) the weather is not so good, so I am taking the opportunity to do all my "on Line" activities. I must say, the Bermagui Seaside Fair yesterday was extremely lucky with the weather as it was an excellent day all day. It wasn't just the weather that was great as the township is to be congratulated on the efforts they went to in making the Fair such a great day for all. See attached photos. For a small town, they certainly did a great job to keep all the visitors (they say around 10,000) fully entertained. Even at the end of the evening, the fireworks were fantastic and we had front row seats as they were held right across the road from the park we are staying ... read more

Yesterday we moved on to Bermagui where our friends Keith and Jude have a holiday unit and have been telling us how great it is down here. I must say they are not wrong. A lovely little fishing town on the south coast. The town folk have done a lot of work to keep the town neat and tidy and looking great which would have to help them for tourism and keeping the town alive etc. We chose to visit now as the Seaside Fair is on, which leads me to add a bit of culture to my blogs and photos. As part of the fair, they offer artists an opportunity to place sculptures in the hillside park overlooking the township. It would appear a lot of the theme this year is recycling as many of ... read more

Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Moruya March 6th 2014

I will do two blogs today as we had a couple of last photos from Moruya that I want people to see. On our last afternoon at Moruya a large thunder and lightening storm brew up over the range inland from us. It was quite a light show and the smell of rain coming was quite exhilarating. Enjoy the photos.... read more

Today is another day and we have now moved on to Moruya. What a lovely small town it is with just about everything a person would need and the park is great. We will definitely will return here in the future. We have had some beautiful sun rises each morning with a mist sitting on the river as the sun comes up. A beautiful spot to just sit and watch. See photos. This is a town that a person could definitely spend some time. However we have to move on in a few days as we have a prior engagement in Melbourne in April for our daughters (Erin) 30th birthday and we can't wait to see her again. Hope you enjoy todays photos as much as we enjoy experiencing them in real life :)... read more

Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Bawley Point March 1st 2014

Hi blog followers. We are now set up at Bawley Point/Racecourse Beach Tourist Park (managed by good friend Helen). We are here for a few days as the weather hasn't been the greatest. Not really bad weather, but just enough drizzly rain to be a nuisance. I must also thank Helen for letting us stay at her park as it is a great spot to use as a base for our travels. Very nice park with loads of big powered sites to choose from:) Today however is looking like being spectacular. See the photos taken this morning of the sunrise over the beach and headland. Since the weather hasn't been the greatest, we have spent the last couple of days touring the local area and checking out future prospective camp or caravan spots. I must say ... read more

Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Lake Conjola February 26th 2014

Well we have moved again. This time just 50km down the coast to Lake Conjola. We were told about it by another couple we talked to in Stockton and decided to have a look. Great place to spend some time. We will only be here a couple of days, but intend to definitely revisit and spend longer in the future. The lake is absolutely beautiful and we hadn't even finished setting up the van when we visited by the local Parrots, lorikeets, kangaroos and then were included as part of a caravanning group already staying there and who come there every year. A great time being had and picking up heaps of fishing tips. Haven't caught anything yet though. :( The weather isn't the greatest as it is a very light sprinkle which makes it very ... read more

Well, we have been on the move again and exploring more of the country. While we were at Kiama we took a day trip up the coast to check out the "sea bridge" (see photos) and then did a slow trip back to Kiama along the coast road through Wollongong, Port Kembla and Shell Harbour etc. There are some great views to be had and some lovely little coastal towns along the way. We also take these opportunities to check out the caravan parks and free camps that are available and add any that are particularly good to our diary for visiting and staying at on future trips. We are now at Huskisson and have spent the day exploring the Jervis Bay National park and the little settlements and camp areas it has to offer. See ... read more

Day two of our visit to Kiama and we have decided to make the most of the fantastic weather while we can and did a round trip from Kiama to Minnamurra Rainforest walk and falls then the Illawarra Sky walk then the heritage town of Robertson then Kangaroo Valley and then back to Kiama via Nowra and Berry. What a great trip it was. Spectacular scenery and views that went on forever. We are definitely getting our exercise on this trip as in total we did approx. 7km. We thank our lucky stars we are still healthy and fit enough to do and see all these things. First up was the Minnamurra Rainforest walk. We can definitely say we are glad we paid for a two year National Parks pass as it saved us entry fees ... read more

We are now in Kiama for a few days to have a look around. Staying at the Easts Beach Holliday Park. It is huge, but very nice indeed. The weather was so spectacular the day we arrived we decided to do the 5km walk around the headlands to the Kiama Blowhole. See photos. As the breeze was coming from the North East the main blowhole was not working, BUT what they call the little blowhole was and it was well worth the walk. Also, as we now never really have anything planned, we decided to stop off for a refreshing drink at one of the locals on the way back to the park. Enjoy the pictures.... read more
