Hayleys flight back to Brantford left this morning so I got a cab back to Petra's early this morning. Chris went out with his friend and raced their little remote control cars for the day. Petra and I went shopping at la senza, then met up with Chris at Earls! I tried Petra's favourite drink, a Bellini! I ordered a wonderful pizza made with feta, tomatoes, and pesto sauce! When we got home Chris hooked up the connect which is a video game that senses your motion and you control your character by moving around! Somehow Chris beat me in bowling, and ping pong, but I racked in the points in track and field. Both Petra and Chris are addicted to Dexter which is on every Sunday, and now so am I! The mystery is very ... read more

I slept in pretty late, ate some really good left over roast beef from Chris' grandparents and made plans with Hayley to meet up! Around 7 I got dropped off at her moms house in Terwiligar, which is a beautiful neighbour hood filled with million dollar homes. One that Chris was admiring turned out to be a house that had a blood stain on the front porch from an Asian man brutally killing his father! Cassidy, Hayleys sister, made us a wonderful dinner of pasta and Caesar salad. She showed me a drinking game called higher or lower, where one person places a card down and the other has to guess if the next unknown card will be higher or lower. If they guess correctly 4 times in a row then it's the next persons turn. ... read more

This morning was quite slow at the store, ate some wonton soup for lunch and explored the area around the store. I found out there is a hot yoga place right around the corner (going to force Petra to come with me one day). There is also a book store that is home to a very old signature cat! I found a book that my friend Corrina had suggested long ago, "The Picture of Dorian Gray". "Some things are more precious because they don't last very long". I like that quote. Once we got home, Petra dropped me off and they went off to Chris' grandparents for dinner! Preet came over and we got ready to go out to "Marquee" which is a nightclub. I wore one of her old dresses and made sure to bring ... read more

My good friend from highschool, Hayley Rathwell is visiting her mom for the week! What are the odds we both plan to be here at the same time? We met up at the Edmonton Mall and ate some lunch at Earls (we don't have it in Ontario). We legally ordered beer, which is a new thing for both of us, and some sushi. We then made our way around the mall trying things on and exploring stores. The mall is so large that we didn't have time to go everywhere but I found a few good deals in the time we had! As we were walking around we bumped into Justin Gracie, a guy we know from highschool and was in our history class. Small world. Hayley had to go, so I continued onto find a ... read more

I woke up early and went to work with Petra and Chris at the vacuum shop. For lunch we ate large vegetarian samosas, I think I had 4 in total that whole day. Preet picked me up around 4pm and we chatted on the porch for a few hours and then watched Master Chef (go Luca go!). The world Preet grew up in is so different than mine was. Some of the stories she has told me are things I hear about but never imagine would happen to someone I know, let alone am related to! I am told I've lived a very sheltered life, thanks mom and dad. I'm excited to go out with Preet and her friends this Friday, not quite sure what we are going to be doing yet though!... read more

This morning was very enjoyable, I got to sleep in! I decided to take Petra's bike and ride it to her work, an estimated half hour bike ride. Since I still don't know my way around I had to stop and make sure I was on the right track. I didn't even have to ride on the major roads because there were so many bike trails! The whole ride took more like an hour but the weather was wonderful so no complaints. After work we made chicken chili which was delicious and watched heat and identity thief. In both movies the main character was Melissa McCarthy, one of my favourite actresses because of her kind of humour. It was a very relaxing day!... read more

This morning was a little rough but brightened up when we had lobster and garlic butter with our breakfast! Mmmhm, I had another nap so I wouldn't be so sleepy and out of it, then went out with Chris and Petra on Dennis' river boat! It's made to be able to go through half a meter of water and glide right through those rocky shallow areas that the big boats would get stuck in! We hit a few bumpy patches but it still rocked! Haha get it? We stopped at a normal fishing spot but had no luck, probably because it was 2pm! They told me they don't have the common sunfish in Alberta like it is in Ontario, but pike are very popular! We boated passed a lot of major cliffs that had been eroding ... read more

After a great nights sleep I woke up early and had some coffee by the fire with Dennis and Petra! Once everyone woke up we made a delicious breakfast consisting of eggs Benedict, hashbrowns, and wholemade bacon. Yum! Chris and Dennis went fishing in Piers but since I didn't have my fishing license I couldn't go. I was alright with that though because I got to go quading with a group of people from the campground. There were probably 5 other quads and 2 razars (bigger than a quad but can do the same things and carry more people). I rode in the passenger seat of the razar, Neil drove, and Abby and her friend were in the back. We drove around everywhere and stopped multiple times to look at the land, drink some beers and ... read more

This morning was very relaxing, got to sleep in, have a shower, and catch up with my friends and family over email and Facebook! I started to write some letters to my family and friends, and researched things to do in Edmonton! I had my bag packed when Petra and Chris got home and we headed off to the store to grab some snacks and alcohol! On the way there we tried the new grilled cheese and ketchup lays flavour which was alright but wouldn't buy them again. On the way we stopped at Rochfort bridge trading post for dinner. The veggie stand was run by Hutterites which is the Alberta version of mennonites, a self sufficient colony that lives off their land. We went down a famous hill named 7 mile that is seven miles ... read more

I woke up early this morning and caught a ride with Petra and Chris to work! Around 4pm Chris' grandmother, his niece Paige, Petra and Preet met at the store and we went to Rose's nails. The only time I ever get my nails done is for prom or a special occasion so it was a treat! All the girls get fake nails everytime they go, so I decided to try it out! I forgot how relaxing a manicure and pedicure can be (thank you Petra). The nails feel so strange and are so long, definitely will take some getting used to! We all went to the red lobster after and had a wonderful meal to finish off the wonderful outing. A fire alarm went off 30 minutes after we got there but because everyone had ... read more
