Arrive a Jammu, on ... read more

Well, a fun but crazy weekend! Laura and Vania had their last big going away party. Laura leaves for China on Thursday and Vania for New Zealand. The teachers got together on Friday night. On Saturday, we went to Carne Station for a big meal and drinks. They have so much food, which you can cook at your own table. Check out the pics! All you can eat and drink for 20.00! We ended being one of the last tables to leave after Kim decided to start playing drinking games "duckie f*&^" . Then Kim and Vania were doing beer and Soju shots! Scary stuff. We ventured to Itaewon. We hit the many bars that serve cheap jello shooters or cheap soju kettles, and free drinks for ladies. Lindsay and Gin enjoyed one of their last ... read more

Baby Sarah is such a flexible little tyke…she’s willing to eat whatever food (for the most part) we have whenever we can feed her (within a reasonable window); she’s willing to go on 3-hour outdoor excursions in the heat and humidity; she’s willing to sleep long nights when that’s exactly what mama and baba need to get over their colds; she’s willing to hang out with baba when mama’s not around. She may not be the “perfect” child, but she sure is all that we could have ever pryed for. We used to talk about how the schedule we keep (especially with youth mnstry) is going to be a challenge for her. How would Sarah handle FNFs that last til 11:00 pm? How would she do with B studies, meetings, youth outings and dinners? So far, ... read more

Hello:-D This is my last night in the state of Himachal Pradesh. I was going to fly to Delhi tomorrow (2.5 hours), but I didn't realize that the plane is a 16-seater, and it's completely booked:-( That means tomorrow I'll be taking a taxi to Pathenkot (I don't want to repeat the 5-hour bus ride since I hear it's only 3 or so hours by cab), and then an overnight train from Pathenkot to Delhi. I'm thinking that I'll spend the night in Delhi and then take a train to Agra in the morning to see the Taj Mahal, which is only several hours away. Then I'm not sure what I'll do, because I really want to go to Varanasi, but I don't have enough time to take a train, because it's another overnight journey. I ... read more

1630 on Sunday afternoon, the sun is starting to sink lower on the horizon and we are looking forward to watching yet another amazing sunset. I don't think we have ever seen sunsets like this before... The days are flying by and its hard to believe we have been here for over a week already. We have already overrun our original itinerary, but only by a few days as Keith wanted to do his Advanced Divers course. The good news is that we both passed our Open Water Diving Course on Thursday! Our instructor Jued was a great teacher and with 16 years diving experience we learnt so much from him. The sea life here is beautiful and we have seen sting rays, angel fish, sea snakes, so many different types of coral, triggerfish and lots ... read more

Sorry for the tardiness of my postings but it has been trouble finding a place to upload photos. Even though it is now Sept. 9th and I am in India, here is my posting from Pokhara, Nepal: Well, Ollie and I finally left Kathmandu after 20 days. We boarded a 7am bus in the pouring rain and joined 14 other people for a two day rafting trip down the Trusili river. We were lucky enough to hook up with our friend Keren again along with her Guest House mates Colin, Giggs, Portugal (that was where the guy was from but I never got his real name), Laura and a handful of Scottish volunteers working in the Nepal region. We had a great time in the 2-3 class rapids which were evenly spaced so there was not ... read more
