This morning’s training was a killer, my muscles had not recovered from sat’s training and I was feeling the drudgery of this previous lessons… my muscles just refused to perform. During my run halfway I felt like a shit coming, stopped at a nearby kopitiam to take a dump. If this were s’pore, the uncle wld have made soooooooo much noise…. Early morning dnt give business, give only shit….lol. these thai chaps are really friendly… As I said, training was a killer. All I did was just to further punish my shins. During intervals I was doing nothing but rubbing boxing liniment against my shins and thighs, much to the amusement of the trainers. During kick pad phase, I learnt a great deal, these trainers are so much more forthcoming and analytical about boxing than the ... read more

Today was my first training. Started with a light run preceded with shadow boxing. This is to be the norm for the rest of my training time here I guess. Morning training was fun, but didn’t learn much things new though, made a special effort to be friendly. I am the only asian around, the rest were all ferangs from all over. Got to know a bloke from Wales, name’s Tom. Seemed like a friendly chap and soon we started hanging around together. We rented bikes to explore the bigger town, Chaweng. I had gasoline pumped into my bike from a quaint looking tin drum and paid a premium of 35 baht for a litre. I swore to get cheaper fuel elsewhere. We went to Tesco’s and was rightfully amused to find that an island of ... read more

After a few days in Bangkok we flew down to Koh Samui for a few days of relaxation by the beach. We arrived very early in the morning (about 7.30am!) and headed straight to the beach to get a good position and lounge chairs. Turns out there was no need to rush, no one gets started in Samui before 10.30am. We spent the first morning sunning ourselves and taking swims in the ocean. We ate lunch at a beach restuarant, munching down thai food with our toes in the beach, not a bad way to eat. After lunch we had a massage, the massage place was open air, right on the beach, facing the ocean, it wasn't hard to relax. That night we went to yet another beach restuarant, feet in the sand, stars in the ... read more

I am absolutely nakered. My arse! oh my arse! its so numb. I am staying in Krabi for 2 days until i catch my coach to Singapore (18hrs from Krabi two stops, better get used to having no arse). Hello cats, Thanks again for all your coments, keep umm coming. Well we've been busy bunnies since are last chat. Thea passed her open water diving course so she can now dive anywhere in th world to 18meters. Well done Thea..... The evening thea finished diving we hopped onto a boat heading for Ko Pha Ngan for the legendary Full Moon Party. We went over with this real funny Aussie bloke called Brentan who made friends with people so quickly we ended up with a little party gang before we even got to the party. Pics below, such a blast. After recovering we went to Ko Samui to chill out for Theas last 3 days. We booked into the sweetest hotel, massive room with a remote control that controlled everything, lights air con, TV, Thea (just ... read more

We had been on Koh Pha Ngan since 18th June as we heard you had to turn up to secure a room at least 3 days prior to the full moon party. It turns out this was good advice as the island was heaving when we arrived on an illegally overcrowded boat from Buddha Pier in Koh Samui. It's only a 12k journey on the boat, but you could see from peoples faces that they wished it was much shorter. We also noted that there were no life jackets or boats attached !!! After an hour or so of looking for a place to stay and taxi drivers trying to rip us off, we found a nice place with a balcony near the beach, but far enough away from the party beach so we could get ... read more

Hey everybody, I finally made it here. let me tell you after the motorcycle taxi I took in the city im glad im alive. They were so careless it was great. He squeezes in between cars, on the sidewalk, on the wrong side of the road. I really thought I was gonna die. It was awesome. I for a brief moment wanted a motorcycle of my own. (Still your heart Jordy..) Then I realized I couldnt drive liek that in Toronto, and I forgot all about it. Plus I love my bycycle. We drove all night but were finally here. While everyone else was sleeping I enjoyed the beach. By enjoyed I mean burned!!! All over. It really hurts. The funny thing is between me and Natalie Im the only one who wears sunscreen and Im ... read more

Hello cats, hope you're all well. Thanks to all of you that have emailed and added comments on my journal. Unfortunatly no one added their name on the end of the comments so I don't have a clue who added them. Add your name at the end, be proud....... Anyways, we left Ko Chang and headed back to Bangkok and the great Khao San road for a little shopping. Bought some genuine fake Ray Ban sun glasses for two quid (lost um an hour later...sweet) and Thea bought two pairs of Birkenstock sandles for a fiver. Left Bangkok and arrived at Koh Tao yesterday. I was a little worried I would have built Koh Tao up a little too much in my head and be disappointed, but no frigging way dude, just look at the pics, ... read more

Been in Koh Samui now for the past few days. Have been enjoying some relaxation on the beach and going out and about in Chaweng. We decided to do some of the East Coast before heading to Cambodia, as we fancied a break from the cities for a while. Really glad that we did as we've had a great time here. Nothing too exciting to report really, as we have quite literally been chilling out on the beach since arriving. We're staying in Chaweng in a hut positioned on the beach front. Very basic but all that you need with such a lovely beach view outside the front door. A cold shower though, which was actually quite a relief from the humidity. Since being here we have been eaten alive by mosquitos and sand flies- have ... read more

Alright, a few things have happened since I last updated, but I'm in a bit of a hurry so I'll update in point form! - Left Laos to Bangkok on the Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge, very very quick and easy border crossing - Stayed on Khao San 1 night(spent too much money shopping in that time) before heading back to Koh Tao for the 3rd time =D - Started our Advanced Open Water Diving Course which consisted of 5 dives - First dive was a deep dive to 30m, very fun, great visibility - Second dive was a navigation dive. Coral and I got lost doing a compass exercise, but all worked out well and we got to explore the dive site on our own, although followed by a divemaster - Third dive was a night dive. ... read more
