Yesterday we decided to hike from Haad Yuan (our beach) to Haad Rin. The hike was supposed to take 90 minutes, but it took us 2 and a half hours! The lookout point along the way made it worth it, though. Here's some pics.... read more

So Hello for the last time on this world trip. It has been an amazing journey and truly an experience of a lifetime. Many thanks to all those who have been following our progress and keeping us in touch with the rest of the world whilst we travelled. Koh Tao was by far our favourite place in Thailand. A very small island, where we stayed in the main village. Not too touristy, but with some great restaurants, although they all seemed to be shamelessly aimed at us with names like Farangos (farang means foreigner in Thai), El Gringos and Whitening. The plan was to wind down whilst in paradise, but in reality we managed 10 minutes of sitting on a beach and spent the rest of the time diving and snorkelling. The diving was mostly fantastic ... read more

Well Amanda has shown me how I can write on here myself, so I'll give it a try.... Today we rented motorbikes each for the day and it was quite the adventure. Amanda's bike wouldn't start and Jaimie had a little crash at the start but other than that it was pretty funny! So there we are in our bikinis just driving along the highway lookin out for scary drivers when it starts pouring rain, it was pretty fun. We went to this beach where there is the Grandfather rock ( which is pretty much a sculpted rock of a man's equipment ) and the Grandmother rock ( use your imagination...) We went for a little swim and headed back to the rooms. It's still pretty cheap here, but not as cheap as Railey. In two ... read more

Here are some pics of our jungle elephant ride. We got rained on that day, which kinda sucked, but it was still a great experience. There are only pics of other people on their elephants, but we'll get some shots of us later. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to take a good picture from a moving elephant.... read more

Little turtle island is awesome. Loved it. Like all other visitors i arrived on this island for the sole purpose of scuba. Lured here by the ever powerful and influential guide books selling the island as the mecca of scuba divers i booked a 5 day Padi course & totally enjoyed it loved it, met some great people and was really bowled over at how amazing the environment is down there. There was alittle bit of fear and apprehension with the thought of your life being in the hands of a tiny steel tank strapped to your back & adapting to breathing through a regulator at deep depths but like anything involving fear the rewards afterwards and the adrenaline are well worth it. We were extremely lucky on our course, we had perfect conditions of 30m ... read more
