Woke up to a rainy afternoon today. It was raining since early morning, and I really hope that the sun will come out soon. The massage we had yesterday seems to does wonders for my body. Despite dancing throughout the night yesterday, my body hardly aches at all. "Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day." I adore the rains, but it's vacation time! So I do want some sun! I really love it here so much! This is such a beautiful and relaxing island. Oh, I don't ever want my vacation to stop. It is really great to escape all the hustle and bustle of the city and just leave all the worries of the world behind us. We didn't do much in this rainy weather. We just strolled around the ... read more

Didn't sleep too well. Must be the pain from that dreadful tummy ache. Woke up in the middle of the night and found it hard to get back to sleep. We checked out early and took a songtheaw back to Chaweng. A motorcycle taxi driver offered to take us both back to Chaweng for THB100. We politely turned him down, cos we know it is too dangerous, especially with our backpacks and all. It is common here though, for more than two persons to ride a motorbike. As many as the rider can handle I guess. And thank God! We managed to get a hut at Charlie's finally (yes, we are a stubborn pair I know)! I couldn't wait to put up my new hammock, and with Vivi's help, I did manage in the ... read more

We got up early today to check out one of the resorts (which we were keen on), if they have any vacancy. Having lived in the concrete jungle for all our lives, we were both keen to stay in those wooden/bamboo huts during our getaway. Plus, the huts at Charlie's Hut looks really great. It was about slightly over 9am and there wasn't any check-outs yet, so we had breakfast at their eatery while we wait. *The receptionist quoted THB300 for a hut with fan and shower, and THB500 for a double. This is what I really called a getaway island. It is 10am plus now and we hardly see many people who are awake. Seems most of them just want to sleep in and enjoy the pleasure of not getting up early for their ... read more

Our hut is just beside Ark Bar, loud music playing till the morning. A half-broken fan, noisier still. Noisy and an unfamiliar room, sleeping on an unfamiliar bed, but we were both dead tired, so we did sleep alright. We slept till about 2pm, paid the rent for the day and had our late lunch at Ark Bar. We ordered from the breakfast menu which serves throughout the day. I don’t quite fancy the sausages, so I fed it to this big, black dog which stared at my food longingly. We took a slow, long walk along the extensive stretch of shops at Chaweng. There were so much things to see. All kinds of shops and stores. Pubs and restaurants. Shops after shops. All catered to tourists and travellers. It is quite unexpected to see ... read more

Arriving in Ko Samui, we were bombarded with overpriced drivers at the pier. Vivienne knew they were overcharging and refused to give in. They were charging from something like 200 Baht to 400 Baht per person, it was crazy. We managed to get to Chaweng beach for 50 Baht each. Although it was raining heavily, the songtheaw driver sure was speeding in the rain. I’m surprised to find Vivienne falling asleep beside me amidst the bumpy ride, she must be really tired. I just opened my eyes wide and took in the sights of the island, and whatever that hit me in the face (including the rain of course). The kids and locals gave us curious stares, eventhough they should be quite used to travellers like us. The songtheaw drove fast in the rain. I ... read more

The journey from Penang to Surat Thani in Thailand took around 10 hours, all in a tiny minibus - apparently air-conditioned although I felt the heat had got to this also and caused it to give up the will to live. After this achievement for my knees (the pain had set in after an hour), any journey I now make will seem easy - at least until I get to Mexico. At Surat Thani a short ferry trip across the water took me to Ko Samui, an incredibly touristy island. The beaches on Hat Lamai were stunning, although far from secluded, and very near to the town, gave a welcome break from city living. It was a shame my ability to swim was non-existent otherwise I could have spent weeks there doing very little. As it ... read more

Ellers saa skjedde det sproeste her paa mandagen da. Vel, tror du faen meg ikke ... read more

Vel, her skjer det ting i Thailand.
