Woo hoo, woo hoo, woo hoo!!!!! After seven months of traveling we were finally heading to Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur. This was a huge part of the trip for me if not so much for the place as the people. Three very special people to be exact. When my brother first moved to a town on the South Coast of England called Shoreham-By-Sea, he moved in with a couple called Karl and Jenni. Married on the 17th of June 2005 at the Lebanese Golf Club, we headed to Phoenicia Intercontinental hotel for our first night together in room 1724 on the seventeenth floor. We spent two marvelous days in the Phoenicia. Our room was decorated with candles, flowers and balloons. On Saturday, we did a ride with a convertible roadster ali rented as a surprise for me and had dinner in café Mondo, the Italian restaurant. Our Travel day was on Sunday 19 June 2005 from Rafic Hariri International Airport with Malaysian airlines, Flight number MH 157 at 15:10. We arrived to Dubai International airport after 2:50 minutes, we had half an hour technical stop in Dubai then 7 hours flight to arrive to Kuala Lumpur. From the clean, quiet orderly streets of Wellington and Auckland to the crowded frenzy and humidity of Kuala Lumpur!! I initially arrived in Singapore but travelled straight to the capital as i have heard Singapore is very westernised and i was aiming for a culture shock so i took the crowded bus to KL. Sensual overload takes place as the smells of fried chicken from street vendors & car exhaust fumes fill the air, thousands of people line the frenzied disorganised streets all clamoring for space whilst there is a thunder & lightening show over the distant moutains on its way to light up & soak the city.
