Day 4 (12/03/2023) Since A was still running a fever, we ordered breakfast via Grab. Compared to yesterday supper, the breakfast was not as good, but the kopi and tea were nice. After breakfast, we decided to explore the "Living Room". A had his first billard experience, but he was not very fascinated. After that, we decided to go out for a short walk and get our lunch as well. We walked to Lot 10, Farenheit 88 and Pavillion. There nothing that caught our eyes, so we ended up at a toy shop in Pavillion to get A a toy to make him feels better. He chose a box of animals, which cost RM160, but he was so happy when he saw it. After that, we went to Don Don Donki to get our lunch. Back ... read more

Day 3 (11/03/2023) We had breakfast at the hotel again. We had a shock when we saw the queue outside the restaurant. Luckily, the queue moved quite fast. The food was generally the same as yesterday. However, the food cleared off very quickly as there was a lot of people. We then went to the Parenthood, which is a indoor playground located in the mall. The playground was pretty fun and there were many obstacles. I accompanied A while my husband went to do some shopping. A enjoyed himself at the playground. He enjoyed it so much that he didn't want to change his diaper. In the end, his pants got all wet and I had to carry him out forcefully. After he changed, I switched with my husband. I walked around the mall and tried ... read more

Day 2 (10/03/2023) Since we slept late yesterday, A woke up later than usual. We had our breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was mediocre. After breakfast, we went back to our hotel to change and pack our stuff for Sunway Lagoon. Its a short walk from the hotel to Sunway Lagoon. When we arrived, we were shocked, as there was already a long queue at the ticketing counter. We have booked our tickets via klook, but we still need to queue to exchange for the wristband. I think we queued for approximately 20-30mins. As the weather was really hot, I told my husband to bring A to the playground in the shopping mall first. Finally, we got our wristbands, we then need someone else to help put it on with a sticker and then move to ... read more

Day 1 (09/03/2023) After we fetched A from school around 3pm, we went back home to shower A and do the remaining packing before we set off to the airport. We had early dinner in the airport. For this flight, A had his own seat and he did well without the pacifier during taking off and landing. We bought new sticker books and storybook to entertain him for this flight. After we landed, retrieval of luggage was pretty fast, but we took some time to locate the pick up area for the private transfer that we had booked beforehand. It took 45mins to reach Sunway Lagoon Hotel. Check in was also quite fast. Room was generally clean but can tell that the room is pretty dated. After we settled down, we decided to do a quick ... read more

We are off to Kuala Lumpur today. The official name of Kuala Lumpur is the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. It is the national capital and largest city in Malaysia. It is commonly and fondly known as KL. The residents of KL are KLites. Malay is the official language of Malaysia. In the Malay language, Kuala Lumpur means “muddy estuary”. The city sits on the confluence of the Sungai Gombak and Sungai Klang rivers, which is how it got its name. The muddy waters of these rivers quite often flood the city during heavy rains. A tunnel has been built to divert flood water. But. Of course most of the time it is empty of water, so the tunnel is used as a relief road and only closed to traffic after heavy rain. Kuala Lumpur is ... read more

We reluctantly left our hotel in Langkawi for the airport and our flight to Kuala Lumpar. It was pouring with rain when we arrived and our senses were assaulted by noise, colours, lots of shops and hoards of people. Thankfully, we had booked a car transfer from the hotel so bypassed the queue. We were given a room on the 19th (and top) floor of the Mecure Hotel with amazing views of the Petronas Towers from the lift area. A quick sort out then a walk to get our bearings, as it had stopped ☔️, and a ride on the monorail to KL Sentrel station to suss out transport and tickets for our stay in the capital city.Dinner at a Chinese restaurant virtually next to the hotel. Batu Caves, 13 km north of KL, was our ... read more

After 3 long years the day finally arrived – we're finally off overseas again!! We arrived in Kuala Lumpur via Singapore late in the evening. After we worked out how to catch the airport express train, we made it to our hotel centrally located in the shopping district of Bukit Bintang. The next day we ventured on foot to the Petronas Towers to take photos and to pay for tickets that I had booked online. Kuala Lumpur reminds me of any Asian capital city – but I couldn’t help but compare it to Bangkok. A slightly condensed Bangkok with less traffic but equally as cosmopolitan. We explored the grounds of the Petronas and took photos, and later walked around the Pavilion shopping mall that is near our hotel and treated ourselves to pints of European beer. ... read more

Singapore is famous for its street food and Unesco has decreed that its hawkers centers have special cultural significance and are now on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. According to Unesco, community dining and culinary practices in a multicultural urban context is present throughout Singapore. Hawkers prepare a variety of food for people who dine and mingle at the centers, which serve as ‘community dining rooms’ where people from diverse backgrounds gather and share the experience of dining over breakfast, lunch and dinner. Activities such as chess-playing, busking and art-jamming also take place. While Singapore is not one of my favorite places in SE Asia, the hawker stalls are a great experience. It can be a little overwhelming on the first visit. Too many choices, too many pe... read more

What a surprise! I never expected such a modern city filled with skyscrapers and air conditioned mega malls! Thankfully it is juxtaposed against the narrow winding streets populated with little shops, tiny houses and street food markets everywhere. It has a big city feel with wonderful modern and old architecture sitting side by side, with many featuring viewpoints of the city from the higher levels of the towers. The Menara Kuala Lumpur and the Petronas Towers being 2 of the most famous and iconic. The subway is very modern and extensive. Easy to navigate and connecting with some of the older train lines and destinations. A highlight for us was taking the subway from the Petronas towers (we were staying nearby in a lovely high rise apartment building that only took us 3 hours to check ... read more
