Ranajky opat velmi bohate. Ruri mama furt nukala jedlo. Ci len hi, podanie ruky, uklon abo objatie. Nastasti to vyriesila za mna a bolo objatie. Napraskany nasadame do auta a zacina nasa okruzna jazda po hokkaide. Dnesny ciel mestecko noboribetsu. Zastavka v dost velkom obchode s drogeriou kde ruri predtym pracovala.

Vyskove budovy, zelen, kopce. Na terminal ... read more

Saturday, 14th July 2018 I started Day 07 of my trip in Hokkaido with a visit to the beautiful Former Hokkaido Government Office located at downtown Sapporo city. Built in 1888, I was fortunate to be able to catch hold of an outdoor concert taking place outside the red-bricked building. Since it was a Saturday when I visited, access into the building was closed. After lingering for 30 minutes, it was time for me to bade goodbye to Sapporo and head to the city of Asahikawa where the Asahiyama Zoo is located. Touted Hokkaido's most established zoo, my visit was worth it for I could get up close to the Polar Bear who was resting comfortably in his enclosure. There was also this very adorable Japanese Red Panda as it made its way up and down ... read more

Friday, 13th July 2019 From our hotel at Shin-Sapporo, we took a westbound train towards the direction of Otaru this morning. Otaru is one of the historical port cities located along this part of Hokkaido. One of the key sites that really stood out is the massive Railway Museum. Within the compound, it was divided into the indoor and outdoor galleries where there were as many as twenty locomotives on display. Over at the indoor gallery, train buffs should be happy to learn that there was even an opportunity to put on the uniform and pit cap to role-play the job of a Linesman. Lunch was a special affair within a restored train carriage that is now home to a western restaurant. The delicious food, the beautiful decor and the impressive service made the whole dining ... read more

Thursday, 12th July 2018 We took a Lavender Express Train bounded for Furano this morning. We were half-expecting that there would perhaps be some lavender scent or even decorations onboard this Special Train Service (which there were none unfortunately). Arrival at Furano station some 80 minutes later, we transferred to another local train that would bring us to the Nakafurano Station where the lavender fields are located. We chose to visit Farm Tomita due to its proximity to public transportation. This was an easy 25 minutes walk from the station. Along the way, we passed by the Town Lavender Fields which gave us a preview of what was to be expected at Tomita later. We paused for a short lavender-flavoured ice-cream break before continuing our walk along the main road. This was a warm and sunny ... read more

Wednesday, 11th July 2018 We completed our 310km rail journey from Hakodate to the city of Sapporo via the 3-hour Super Express train this morning. Along the way, we had our beautiful Shinkansen bento box to accompany us for lunch. Upon arrival at the Shin Sapporo Station, we were very happy that our room at Hotel Emisia was ready for check-in. After a brief rest, we took a train bounded for Chitose where YP alighted at the Nera Outlet Mall for shopping while I continued my journey to the New Chitose Airport. The Airport was a joy to visit with its myriad of colourful shops, eateries and museums. There was even a huge Royce Chocolate World and Retail Space located right at the heart of the Departure Area. I made a brief visit at the free ... read more

Monday, 9th July 2018 After breakfast at my favourite Dotour this morning, we left Tokyo to embark on our 857km rail journey to Hakodate, the gateway city in southern Hokkaido. The Hayabusa Shinkansen train did the trick in slightly over 4 hours. By 2.37pm, we had arrived at Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station where we continued our 19-minute journey to the city centre via the convenient Hakodate Liner local train. From the main Hakodate Train station, our hotel at Goryokaku district was an easy tram ride away. This was my second stay at the Dormy Inn chain which was popular for its in-house hot springs facilities and complimentary ramen noodles served in the evenings. It was rather chilly by the time we arrived in Hokkaido this afternoon with overcast skies and light rains as we ventured out from the ... read more

Saikuringu was to be the focus of the next chapter. With John from the ‘Gong’s carbon framed yet touring type slick-wheeled bikes, we would be light, even if laden with drink, and for P2, a camera bag slung across his shoulder. The penchant for dedicated cycle roads/ paths was growing in Hokkaido, like elsewhere in Japan, and with the benefit of P2’s research on A and B road trails near Furano, we set out for Tokachidake on day one. It was to be around 80km. Aware of a climb before us, not the calibre of one of our Northern Spain experiences, we set off as early as we could muster, as recommended. It was 21C at 6.30am and the sun well risen. 16km later we had travelled a long straight road with barely a hillock of ... read more

03.04.2018 Today we were going to leave the hotel. Today one of the participant forgot her purse containing passport , money in breakfast hall and in the process, we were delayed. However, Priyanka found out the same under the drappery of serving tables. The lady had put it there and forgotten to take it back. We first went to Happoen Garden. Happo-en (which means a garden beautiful from eight angles/a garden beautiful from all angles) is a hidden garden in the vicinity of Minato-ku, Tokyo. It was built in the early 17th century (Edo Period) and was reconstructed in 1915. Happō-en is a garden with beautiful views. This garden is a home of Bonsai, Mapple, and Cherry trees.
