We arrived late at night into Perth but were greeted at the airport by my two brothers, Carl and Garry, a moment I had been looking forward to since we left England. It was now only one week till Christmas but still felt like months away. Within the week leading up to the big day we had a family day out to Fremantle and had lunch at Cicerello’s fish and chip shop on the pier, on the way back there was complimentary wine tasting which we all took full advantage of! We also went to Kings Park which gives great views of the city and had a fantastic playground for Neve and Isaac to let off steam. Gaz and I took Neve to Cottesloe beach where GMTV had a live link, so it was packed of ... read more

G'day. Have had a chilled two days. Slept LOTS yesterday then went for lunch in my cousin's pub...then just bummed around for the rest of the day. My uncle took me for a drive at night, saw all the city and some beaches...lovely sunsets...very windy though! It's strange...I now the cheek to say "its cold" at night times! COLD! It's not cold as we know it, just a bit windy! :) Today hopped on a bus into Perth just to wander by myself! its pretty hot and lovely! Everything is really big...BUT the pigeons and seagulls aren't scary! they don't even come up to you like the evil english ones! Meeting up with Tommo from college in about 20 minutes! Should be nice. then off to hit the town with cousin and friends tonight! A pretty ... read more

Landed in Perth, Western Australia at 8.15 am. Lots of queues at immigration, but officials were friendly and only doing their jobs. Couldn’t wait to see John and Nikki, but they weren’t there when we walked out of the Arrivals Lounge. Bob trotted off to put on his shorts and then Chris spotted John and Nikki walking towards us. It was great to see them again all smiling and laughing as usual and we all had lots of kisses and hugs. They had brought both cars, so all the men got in John’s car and all the ladies in Nikki’s. It was about 40 minutes drive to Mindarie, (situated on the outer northern coastal suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia and is located 36 km from Perth's central business district. Its Local Government ... read more

Unfortunately, its come to a point where I have to leave Perth. I can't find a job, so I have to go stay with my mom for a few weeks in Adelaide so I can make some money. But I guarantee that I will be back here by the end of February. I've been on bebo all day hunting down people who have left the hostel. I've found some fantastic pictures that I will be posting in the coming weeks. Once I get back to my moms, I dont have to pay for the internet, so I'll be able to upload heaps of photos onto photobucket. Aside from leaving, there isn't a lot of news at all really. Been the same thing at the hostel basically. Lots of goon drinking being done, lots of fun being ... read more

Hello all! Thanks for the comments...I wasn't actually expecting people to read this stuff! Anyway, what did today bring?! Well...I went to Rottnest Island with my auntie. That place literally is PARADISE! It's basically a deserted island....with no cars...people just cycle. it has only 150 residents...who all work there. working there consists of being in one of the two hotels, the one shop, the gift shop or the visitors centre...cuz that's pretty much all there is there apart from sun, white fine sands and the most gorgeous blue seas! Oh and the other locals are cute little fluffy quokkas! They live under some bushes! Adorable! There were also peacocks roaming around...scary stuff! I cannot stress how little there is to do on the island though! it takes 45 mins on the bus to tour the whole ... read more

hello every one, Sorry we haven't been intouch, this is because we ahven't had enough time to write this blog! We all had a fab, but tiring time, traveling round in our mini campervan! It was quite cramped and i hvad to share a bed WITH KIERAN my brother! He moves around and takes the cover and also draps himself over me!!! Any way it was a treat to be able to stay with Ken and Dot (Dad's cousin nad his wife!) because they just did every thing for us, so thjanks so much. While we were there they were looking after there daughters dog 'Aussie', the labourdoddle (1/2 labourdoor(?) and 1/2 poddle!) who was so adourable and i grew very attached to him. He is about 6 years old and very very playful. Every time ... read more

Well it is safe to say that I am loving Australia! On Monday we went diving as planned off Rottnest Island. The island itself is gorgeous, but i was a bit disappointed with the diving. The visibility was good but there was not that much down there to see apart from some pretty corals, a few small fish and a big samson fish. After the diving we had about 45 minutes to take a walk around the island. We saw the old prison and the old boys reformatory - which were both in use until 1901, and have since been converted into holiday accomodation. We also took a walk up to the Catholic Church, where there is an organ and a music book for you to play songs of your choice - amongst other things Twinkle ... read more

After a 15 hour Journey the day, Which I’ll have to say was pretty uninteresting, as bus journeys are known to be. I arrived late that evening in Carnarvan, where I was picked up by Doug and taken back to the local motel where the rest of the family are staying. After a good nights sleep, it's up early to have breakfast and meet everyone again. Doug then heads back to the station while Me, Tiff and the kids do the shopping before leaving the town behind us and head into the outback, to Middalya Station. All the kids seemed really pleased to be heading back and couldn't wait to show me their home. On the journey there, I told a lot about what to expect. The station it's self is half a million acre's. ... read more

G'day folks! So, I've finally arrived! The flight was relatively painless. I managed to sleep enough, listen to "greatest number one hits of 1996"...including everyone's favourite...mr blobby! (Argh!), eat and watch the little mermaid! It was all good! I arrived at about 3am...so went to bed at 4am and woke up thinking "TURN THE HEATING OFF!" but it was actually sunshine shining through my window....then the reality kicked in..."wooohooo sunshine...im in australia!" I could have slept all day but decided to get up! Plugged in my adaptor and there was a huge green spark! Hmmm!!! Basically just toddled around with my cousin today...met a couple of her friends, they seem fun...and very australian! :P Went to a shopping mall type thing to get some 'sunnies' (im already talking the talk! :P) and a new sim card- ... read more
