Hello to every one, we are still having a great time here in Western Austraila, although we are ready to move to Alice Springs in the next few days. Christmas was great although a little bit diffferent, we managed to get to the beach at 9 o'clock on Christmas morning for Champagne and a swim, which was fantastic. This is the must do thing on Christmas day as there were hundreds of other people down there at this time. We headed to Cath's cousins John and Elaine's for lunch which was lovely (Thanks very much) Following lots of nice beer and wine, we still had time to get home to open some presents and get back down the beach for sunset. Boxing day was a fun day of sunshine and beer with most of it spent ... read more

Tuesday Jason picked me up from the Airport and drove me around a little so that I could get my bearings. Janet and Jason have beautiful home about 5km north of the City of Perth in a place called Woodvale. They have made me very welcome and I am enjoying their relaxed way of life and love spending some time with their two effervesant little girls Wednesday Had a great day with Cousin Janet Lily and Ellie-Rose. Had to do the thing that all English people find the need to do as soon as they get here, find the Kangaroos. Believe it or not we found some in the cemetery, it was good to get up close and personal and to see them just hopping around just like Skippy did on TV. We then travelled along ... read more

Next stop was two nights in the amazing coral bay after another mammoth journey. A tiny little settelment right on the Ningaloo Marine Park. For those not in the know the Ningaloo reef is a huge set of reef systems in WA that rivals the great barrier reef in terms of the number of species of coral and fish that you can find there. It only receives a fraction of the numbers of people that the great barrier reef does so you don't have to fight the crowds. Coral Bay is beautiful with clear waters and soaring temperature, you can paddle out from the shore to the reef as it's only 50 m away. Did lots of snorkeling for the two days we were there and saw loads of different types of fish, including Nemo. Other ... read more

Hi all.. Our last stop in Australia has been perfect - from beaches, parks to prison hell - we've really had a fab time here... Perth is truely an amazing City and has, we think the best of both worlds from City to Beaches! You can see why people settle here with constant sunshine, great food, a very relaxed pace (even the taxi drivers drive so slow), natural beauty and lots of space - Its main focus is the Swan River, stretching from gentle backdrops of hills from the East to the vineyards of the Swan Valley - The City Centre with its glass towers of the central business district (CBD) sparkles, with lots of shopping malls, arcades of smaller boutiques, and busy shoppers who spill over into the streets of Northbridge where they are greeted ... read more

Having considered all the different ways to get about this huge part of the world, we opted to hire a car for 2 weeks and cover as much stuff as possible. So, the temporary owners of a brand spanking new Hyundai Getz we hit the road, hoping to visit the Ningaloo Marine park a really long way away. Leaving Perth through the swan valley the scenery is first rate with vineyards aplenty and no shortage of greenery. This soon changed as we headed up the highway further north and we were introduced to Oz Native Bush. It is literally just loads of bushes for miles and miles and miles with lots of red dust , the odd flat kangaroo and an occasional goat. But its pretty unique although this wears a bit thin after 500 km. ... read more

Hi everyone, well, what can I say, the sun is shining and the sky is bright blue and clear, think it has been about 35 in the shade today! Perth, we arrived after travelling all night and checked in to our hotel around 9.30am on 3rd January, exhausted, we unpacked and then went to bed for most of the day. This was actually a very sensible thing to do because believe it or not, we arrived in Perth when it was cold, cloudy and very windy. We got up had a quick wander round, ate in the hotel with a few bevvies and then back to bed. Morning of the 4th we got up and the sun was out though it was still cooler than we had been expecting. We spent the morning wandering around Perth, ... read more

Hi all, After we'd been to the libary yesterday and before we had tea, we went to the outside swimming pool, even though Nats auntie said it was only 24'c and this would keep people at home with it being so cool!!! She was right, the pool was practically empty, but we had a nice swim anyway, we are from the north and so we were able to withstand these extreme conditions!! We've been looking at all our books and got some leaflets today so we think we are going to start work somewhere (when weve found something) in a few weeks then get some money together and spend it by going up to Broome and Darwin (i think) via Ningaloo bay (looks very pretty and good for our new found skill- snorkling) then go down ... read more

We left Bali airport at midnight and made a 2 hour 55 min flight to Darwin where we had to change after a 2 hour wait and jump onto a much smaller plane to fly to Alice Springs. The flight there only took a couple of hours but we were so shattered we slept for most of the way. It was also morning in OZ and just getting light so we could see just how remote the outback really is. We had to get off the plane again in Alice Springs for about 30 minutes, then board to finally make our way to Perth. We had been wondering about whether or not to go to Ayers Rock as we only have 2 months to do Australia and flights cost an absolute fortune, we certainly dont have ... read more

After an unadventful flight I arrived in Perth. Where I was picked up by Tracey and her sister. They took me back to their parents house for the night. It was great to see Anne and Brian again as we had met briefly before when they had stayed us in england. The next it was time to get every thing sorted for the appartment we all renting for the week in Scarborough. By the end of the day me and Tracey had everything sorted ready to pick up Mum and kelvin from the airport that evening. The next morning was big chill out and Aunty Barbra came round for Tea and cakes. In the afternoon after picking up Carl from the airport. We took a trip to Kings park for a quick look around before heading ... read more
