Drama Numero Uno We have now only three days to go, and already the drama has begun. We had previously asked out travel agent about Visas, and he told us that we didn’t need any. We asked about Cambodia and he said all we needed was US$20 and a passport photo when we arrived at the airport in Phnom Penh. BUT… my little bro was here yesterday arvo and asked if we had our visas ready. And I’m like ‘no we don’t need any’. He’s like ‘yes you do’. I’m like ‘no we don’t’. He’s like ‘yes you do’. Me being me (always right that is) kept this banter going back and forth many more times, before admitting defeat and checked the trusty Lonely Planet Guide. And, yes you guessed it, David was right. So ... read more

Alright so it's been awhile since we've been near a computer. We actually spent three more days in Byron, two days in Surfers Paradise and two days in Brisbane since the last time I wrote on this thing. Oh yeah and I just wanted to wish a happy belated birthday to Leah and Jen. I heard you guys had fun in Windsor and i missed out, although Towner, bullshit it's 34 degrees there but it is here. I don't even remember what I've talked about on this thing and what I haven't. So we'll start with the rest of Byron. We met a lot more really cool people, one girl from Texas, Katie, spent most of the rest of our days there with us which consisted of the beach and drinking from the goon at night. ... read more

Hey everyone, thanks so much for all the emails. Anna and I are in Crows Nest - we got here around 10pm last night (Saturday for us). They told us we would be in a little shack....the lied. They're idea of a shack is far from ours. Our "Shack" is a brick house with a loft (well an attic), a living room with beds, a tv, a whole kitchen, washer, bathroom with shower...AWESOME. Soooo...things are goood...Sarah Cruise, Im going to give you a really quick call some time because if you are coming (maybe with lauren) you for sure would have room with us for a couple nights. We got lost a lot in Melbourne..it was not funny at the time, but yeah now we laugh. The cab drivers SUCK. they don't know where they're going. ... read more

After the excitement of the diving course what better then chillin’ with the hippies at Byron Bay. People spontaneously breaking into song and jamming sessions on the pavement, beautiful beaches and a fun crowd! The main beach in Byron goes on for miles with a light house on one end is a lighthouse set on top of some magnificent cliffs. I spent my time walking the beach and took a surf lesson. I enjoyed the surfing despite the school being less than professional. I also met Ian from the diving course along with Emma and Wai. Brisbane was a lot quieter than Melbourne and Sydney but a nice place. The city is built around a river. The south bank has an artificial beach along with a market and gardens while the main CBD lays on the ... read more

New Years day was a relaxed day with nothing done of note. It was also one of the hottest days Sydney has ever seen. Walking out of the air conditioned Wakeup out into the street was like opening an oven door after cooking a big meal. The day before i left for Brisbane i decided it might be good to go and look around the Australia Museum. It was useful that Jason came with me, because the disabled entrance took you into the heart of the building avoiding the Cashiers. The museum itself wasn't anything special, but it passed the time. The special Monsters exhibit was ok but i wouldn't have wanted to pay the extra $5 to get in there (we got our tickets off a couple of girls from the hostel). The skeleton section ... read more
