Helloooo...its been a while since Ive been on the internet - man living in the aussie bush sucks in terms of service. Our phones and internet have been out for 2 weeks...lol. Well I just got into Brisbane at 7:30pm (thurs) tonight. Im travelling to Melbourne tomorrow morning to visit Cissy - my music teacher from home :) Im staying at a hostle right across from the bus place...kinda sucks cause im alone - random...not used to travelling alone. Im a big loser - theres a "cool" bar downstairs and Im definately not going, ill be heading to bed soon...haha. Anna is coming on Sunday - so we can travel home (haha Crows nest) together. At an hour unacceptable to most, the Wondering Wanderers arose and underwent final preparations before the taxi arrived to whisk them away to the airport. Ahh... Vanuatu... we couldn't wait! We arrived at the airport uber early, as we had a few tax refunds we wished to lodge and we didn't know how long the queues would be. When we rocked up to the TRS/Customs Office on level 1 at Brisbane Int'l, the office was empty - so much for the crowds we were expecting! Getting our receipts stamped for items we wished to check-in was a breeze so we ended up having a lot of time to kill whilst a) waiting for check-in and then b) waiting for the call to board. Back on the road. Stuck around Cairns for quite a while (almost 2 weeks in the area), but have finally prised myself away, and flew down to Brisbane just over a week ago, intending to use the city as a base for visiting the nearby by natural features of The Great Sandy National Park, namely the everglades around Noosa and Fraser Island, the worlds largest sand island. As the name implies, there is indeed more sand than you could possibly imagine in one place, Fraser Island itself allegedly containing more than the Sahara Desert. It manages to get everywhere; vehicles, clothes, food, bodily crevaces, nothing is left free of sand.
