Oh dear what a shame we had to leave Surfer's Paradise?!?! (said with more sarcasm than ever before). It was awful. After leaving the most amazing place I have ever been to end up in a commercial, concrete, neon, McDonald's, theme park, scally-tastic filled dump can only be described very depressing and put us all on a bit of a downer for a few days. The night life there was supposed to be it's one saviour but even that was rubbish, so if you can't tell already we were not impressed and have nothing good to say about it. .... So onto brighter things, and the hype has to be re-fuelled in our lack luster engines, so we moved out of the Cavv-run Cheers backpacker's and on to Brisbane. Dag 20 : 29/03/2006Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary wa... read more

Long time no talk for me mainly because there has not been a lot for me to tell you lot that would excite you. Its been well over 2 weeks since my last blog now so ill try to remember what we have done to the best of my knowledge. As far back as i can remember we went to the rugby 7's at the Commenwealth Games we went to every single session so we were there from 10 in evening 2 hour break in afternoon and then finish at half 10 in the evening. The Rugby was brilliant fun the atmosphere was amazing and it was gd to see all the lesser countries like Uganda, Kenya and Sri Lanka get there chance to shine. The most notable thing from the first days play was the ... read more

Hadde vaert i Airlie i kanskje elleve dager naa!

I found golf a bit dangerous with Libby's cousin. This is apparently the hardest course in Australia, but it was a bit rough for him to take it out on me!... read more

This WILL probably be the last entry before NZ, the apartment we’re going to is very unlikely to have a connection. We’ve only spent 3 days in Brisbane, but this has resulted in 3 hangovers. We suspect this may have something to do with the presence of Miss A. White. Met her again last night, then went off to the Story Bridge Hotel to hook uo with Christine who made an appearance on these pages in Sydney. Then went back to Chrissies Mums apartment for more drinks, good night, and all only a AU$ 10 cab ride away. Brisbane has been fabulous, if hot, it has a man-made beach in the middle of town, shops that stay open, life on the street, a spirit of non-conformity, all in all it looks like a good place to ... read more

Absolutely boiling! Wendy left today as she is going down to Melbourne to see the commonwealth games, lucky! As it was so boiling only one thing could be done - sitting by the lagoon! I also found the market right beside it, but have to refrain from spending the little money I have!... read more

Well this is the 3am pissed blog that I anticipated it would be. The opening night was really fantastic, even though I know 'An Inspector Calls' backwards and every other way it really was a stunning production (I suppose Steven Daldry knows his stuff), and of course the after show was as expected. A couple of corporate speeches followed by some serious eating and drinking. This being Australia I had to make best pals with the tech guys in order to find somewhere to have a smoke without taking a lift 5 floors down from the roof terrace. It all went downhill from there. It's now 3.15 am, very pissed, one of the principals has been arrested for taking a leak on the street, I've made good friends with Sneaky and Grant from the crew, who ... read more

As the title suggests we finally found Skinny some shoes! Quite a while later we finally found the lagoon too! Its quite small and not as pretty as the others we've been to but it has sand in and around the water, and a ot of sun beaming on it so I'm not complaining!... read more

I was wrong, they didn't advertise it but this hotel has great, free, wifi, so blogging continues. It took a while, but finally found out why Adelaide didn’t work for us. While at an internet cafe in Adelaide (doing the last blog entry), I went outside to have a much needed cigarette break. Then the most astonishing thing happened, I was approached by a young(ish), fit(ish) woman who engaged me in flirtatious conversation. Well, I assumed it was, I’m not much used to that sort of thing, but what gave the game away was the loss of interest that happened immediately after mentioning my wife sitting in the cafe. But before the loss of interest some of the conversation had been about the strange feeling that Barb and I had felt since arriving in Adelaide. She ... read more
