Byron
A view of just a slice of what Byron has to offer After the excitement of the diving course what better then chillin’ with the hippies at Byron Bay. People spontaneously breaking into song and jamming sessions on the pavement, beautiful beaches and a fun crowd! The main beach in Byron goes on for miles with a light house on one end is a lighthouse set on top of some magnificent cliffs. I spent my time walking the beach and took a surf lesson.
I enjoyed the surfing despite the school being less than professional. I also met Ian from the diving course along with Emma and Wai.
Brisbane was a lot quieter than Melbourne and Sydney but a nice place. The city is built around a river. The south bank has an artificial beach along with a market and gardens while the main CBD lays on the other side. Brisbane is also home to the Mt Kootha, a national park west of the city. I walked to the view point and along the aboriginal art trail. The botanical gardens are probably one of the best in Australia and the planetarium put on a good show. As usual I was chasing lizards around the park trying to get a good shot
Main Beach
Main Beach sprawling along the coast with the light house at the end and managed a few. i also took in some culture and went to the Bribane Museum and Art gallery along with the town hall. The museum was good but the gallary is not really my thing, the curators were a little snooty and the artwork a little too abstract for my liking.
The last few days have been a good chill time before the hectic itinerary of Queensland ahead, and the aircon in Brisbane helped me catch up on some zzzz.
