... read more

I am so sad that I am missing Heather's wedding for work:( I'm thinking about her now, on my ciggi (which is apparently a cigarette break, except no one in the gallery smokes, so it is a "check your email" break). We have had so much to do though, it's already 2:20! We are moving tomorrow evening to our new space, so we've pacled things up and got a new phone system, and other loose ends. We've done a lot actually in my very short time here and I know that David, my boss, is very impressed with how efficiant and smart I am. I've already figured out ARTFORM database system:) Anyway a typical day for me, just so you know what I'm up to when I am busy this next 7 weeks. I get ... read more

Three and a half months and it went in a blur! i have had a great time and met some fantastic people. Big thanks go out to Auntie Cath and Shane in Adelaide, Kieran and Anne in Sydney and Betty and Lindon in Queensland. They and their families were all absolutely fantastic. I wish i could have had more time with them all. drinking wine in Adelaide, catching crabs in Queensland,(next time), being chased my spiders in Sydney,(not really). They were all absolutely great and so friendly once they'd got over over what an idiot their nephew/cousin was! Big thanks also to Chris,(the lizard king) and Claireanne, Matt and Gerry,Bobbie and Krishna, Colum O Reilly, Danni the Aussie,Jason Harper, Mimm and Aran to name but a few! I did 18 flights,(about 36000 miles) and did untold miles ... read more

Ladies Day at Royal Ascot Europe » United Kingdom » England » London » Ascot By The Martini sJune 21st 2007Kelly Martin We had an amazing day today in London. Robert our favorite driver picked us up and took us to Ladies Day of Royal Ascot. This is the day where the ladies pull out all of the stops with the extravagant hats. We didn't win any money but we had a fantastic time. We got back to the hotel and had a drink and then Jon's Aunt Melanie, Jeff and cousins Jordan and Derek arrived from Sun Valley... read more

After the rather exhausting experience at Pearson International, I basically slept the entire way crossing the “pond”. Well, that’s not entirely correct since I woke up to eat and watch 2/3 of “The Last King of Scotland”. What an amazing movie - just didn’t really help with anxiety. Warning to myself and individuals planning to travel to East Africa: NEVER GRAB A GENERAL’S GUN, SHOOT A COW WITH IT AND, LATER ON, SCREW AND INPREGNANT HIS WIFE. You are just looking for trouble if you decide to do any of the above. London Heathrow is a ridiculously huge airport, which took us almost half an hour just to get from terminal 4 to 3, where we were meeting up with Tania and Jo. It turned out that their Air Canada flight was surprisingly punctual and we ... read more

Of all the flights I have purchased in the past eleven months, none have been as disastrous as my trip to Newquay, thanks to Ryanair Don'tgetyou there. Sorry it has been so long since I updated my blog, but I returned home unexpectedly early and have spent the last three months in France with my mum. On Tuesday 19th I flew from Limoges to Stansted, intending to catch the evening flight to Newquay to spend a few days with my dad. Next week, unfortunately, I have to return to the world of work (gizzajob?), so was catching up with Dad before I got back to the real world. The flight from Limoges to Stansted was uneventful. We landed on time, a fact accompanied by much fanfare from RyanAir who played an announcement over the aircraft tannoy ... read more

Okay, so I am here, and so are three of my cohorts! Our flats are amazing. We cannot even begin to imagine how much they would cost if we were to live there for real... thousands of dollars, or even to purchase, one girl said in the millions of pounds.. CRAZY! Already grocery shopped, and had a cup of coffee... still awake after being up all night, but that's okay. The biggest adventure of my day so far was the cab ride.. very awkward feeling like I'm on the wrong side of the road and having some of the other drivers coming straight towards us several times. It was a bit edgy, but otherwise I made it! We live just a couple of blocks from our first of many pubs (probably have a sip tonight ... read more

So, this morning began with a flurry at the rather ungoldy hour of about 5 am, but as I couldn't really sleep (combination of excitement and a truly shitty bed) it really didn't matter. Last night, after writing, I wandered around the dark streets of London and had my first proper pint of Guinness at a rather crappy and trendy bar next to The "Imperial" called the Night and Day Pub. Not bad, just not particularly my cup. So, we begin and my luggage makes weight, which is apparantly of great importance. I came in at around 42 pounds with a limit of 44, so I was not required to move anything. Once weighed the excited travelers were faced with a rather unfortunate situation. The only place open to get any sort of food was ... read more

We slept in late today-or at least Caroline and I did-and then spent the remainder of the day at the Tower of London. This is where they would take royal prisoners, the people who upset the kings and queens. There are different exhibits but instead of just wandering around like Caroline and I wanted to do, my parents decided to take a guided tour which was kind of a mistake since my mom was the only one who could understand him and his thick accent. So my sister and I sort of went off on our own and took pictures. My dad and I liked the torture exhibit, and the crown jewels exhibit was a hit also. After we spend until about 5:30 there, we hurried home to get ready for a fancy dinner at ... read more
