This is your opportunity to self identify if you want to be nominated for Blogger of the Week or attract five Followers to be on the Front Page.
In the past, so often we find very good writers and picture takers late in their journey. By the time they are identified and nominated their trips are almost over. So if you are about to start a trip, and want the exposure to fellow Travelbloggers, and are committed to writing blogs about your journey, then please let us know about you...when are you leaving, where are you going (rough itinerary as us TBers don't like to be tied to a schedule), what has inspired you to take this trip, and whatever else you wish to add so that we can get to know you better.
Reply to this I found a couple that are currently on their honeymoon and traveling in South America. Looks like they left recently. I will send a message and find out how long they plan to be on the road.

And we're off! Reply to this Hey!
I'm new to the site, and currently making preparations for my big leap next month! I'm really looking forward to learning, writing, sharing and being part of the travelblog community!
Happy travels, happy life. ^_^

Reply to this You are exactly the kind of Travelblogger we were hoping to get to know! My son is also teaching English, but in Bangkok...his contract expires in March 2013. He wants me to take the Silk Roadwith him after that. I will start following you, and am looking forward to your blogs.
Reply to this Thanks for the warm welcome, you guys! :-) Bob and Linda, I wish you and your son safe travels in Asia next year. What a wonderful journey that'll be! I was looking at you profile and coincidentally I went to high school in Denver! I adore CO! And I lived in Belgium as a child because my father was stationed there (Air Force). Small world, right?
Dave/Merry Jo, thanks for the photo post! I'm peeking through your SE Asia blogs now looking for ideas and tips. :-) Enjoy Cuba, my best friend is Cuban and always talks about it. What an intriguing place with a unique history.
Reply to this Hi
I am new to the website & whole blogging experience, I love the website & really enjoy reading other peoples blogs & viewing their photo's from around the world (wish I had started blogging years ago), currently following Scott & Annie (scottannieuh) on their trip to California with avid interest, as that is where we are off in a couple of weeks time for our 10th wedding anniversary; also as my son has recently emigrated will be travelling to Australia next year, so think I might get hooked on this travel blogging malarkey !!
Reply to this Welcome to Travelblog. You will truly find us to be the friendliest travelblog around...nothing corporate about it at all. Everyone knows pretty much everyone, and we keep trying to reach out to new commers, such as in this Forum topic. So thanks for identifying yourselves.
I will be Following you as you tour the Southwest. I've looked at your itinerary, and it looks great. It will give you enough time in each of the top destinations to get a sense of place.
My wife and I will be traveling to Australia in October before seeing New Zealand. That's good that your son is there.
Reply to this Hey guys,
We are embarking on a 9 month trip to Asia from September 24th, first stop Japan! Followed by China, Vietnam, Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia.
Along the way we hope to be able to volunteer or teach English to children and generally have some awesome 'never forget' experiences!
We will be re-starting our blogs shortly before we leave 😊
Reply to this Thanks for letting us know. I've just looked at your blogs from your previous trips, and signed up as a Follower so that I see all your new blogs. You already have five or more Followers so I won't be able to nominate you for Blogger of the Week. All your blogs will be on the Front Page so should attract more Followers. You have a fantastic itinerary so we should all have fun.

Hey guys, there's opportunity to volunteer to teach English in Cambodia, Vietnam & Laos. I have done so in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Will you guys be hading to Malaysia/Singapore?
Reply to this There are teaching jobs available in most of the countries that you have listed, however, most will require you to have some form of teaching qualification. TEFL is usually the minimum requirement. Teaching without a certificate is still possible, although the schools will generally not be professional outfits and the pay will be quite low.
Also, if you are going to teach then you will be expected to commit to a absolute minimum of 3 months.
There are quite a few teachers (including myself) here on TB. Try reading through some of their blogs, many of which offer a lot of good and often humorous advice.
