How to use images on your travel blog?
I just started a travel blog, and I'm looking for someone who can help me out with the following. On my website I would like to write inspirational blogs like:
- 10 places to visit when going to
- Coolest tree houses of
- Most luxurious hotels of
However, I'm aware of the fact that I'm not allowed to simply copy and paste the images of that particular place.
How do you guys tackle this problem? Is there a quick way / hack so that I'm able to use cool pictures without having to actually go there and shoot them myself?
P.s. I'm already aware of pexels / pixabay, but they don't have specific places/hotels that I'm looking for.
Thanks SO much!
Reply to this Hello there and welcome to Travelblog. As this is a site for people that go to places and then write blogs about them adding their own photographs that they have taken, permission to use your own pictures isn't a problem.
Reply to this In response to: Msg #209929 Nicely said. On my recent trip to Scotland, for some reason a couple of my pictures didn't show up in my cell phone/camera. I was tempted to download pictures from an image file, but didn't do so as I believe that the only pictures that one should upload to a blog are your own or one shared by a friend who was accompanying me on the trip.

Reply to this Thank you for asking the question, as many people just grab stuff they see online and later get in trouble. As others have noted, this site is aimed at travelers, so pictures should be of places you have been, that you took yourself. Anything else runs the risk of being flagged as Commercial.
If you are writing a blog as a preview for an upcoming trip, and want to show readers what to expect in the blogs, be very careful where the pictures come from. Almost anything online is copyrighted and can't be used. The one exception I know of is Wikipedia (these pictures are also copyrighted, but they allow people to use them)
