Rano sme len vstali, presli par metrov a mali nachystane ranajky - vynikajuce croassainty, vybornu kavu a cajik. Neskor sme sa vybrali prezriet si mesto. Salta neponuka vela klasickych turistickych atrakcii, ale je to krasne, ciste mesto a pre nas zatial najviac sa priblizujuce k Europe. Dalsou vybornou spravou bolo ze tu maju supermarkety, dokonca aj Carrefur, co sme hned aj vyuzili a urobili si krasnu veceru. Stani si kupil pravy argentinsky steak a tvrdil ze je to najlepsie hovadzie ake kedy jedol. Jediny problem ktory zatial mame s Argentinou je, ze sa tu nikde nedaju zohnat instantne slize, take tie co staci len zaliat, bez varenie. Salta was our first taste of Argentina and we were very pleasantly surprised by it. We had expected it to be beautiful and sunny but not too hot which it was (because of the altitude) but were surprised by how nice the town was, it is made of wide leafy streets with very nice houses, a grand main square and lots of sophisticated, aflluent shops and people, distinctly different to Bolivia. We had 4 nights in Salta which was one more than we would have chosen but we didn’t want to be travelling on new years day so stayed until the 2nd. Moin. Erster Bericht aus Argentinien. Die Reise war der totale Horror. Habe von Uyuni einen Zug zur Grenze nach Villazon genommen. Erste Zugfahrt in Suedamerika und ich muss sagen, ich werde mich nie mehr ueber die DB beschweren. Der Zuf fuhr ca 30 kmh und man hatte trotzdem das Gefuehl, er wuerde gleich entgleisen. Den direkten Bus nach Salta habe ich dann verpasst aufgrund verschieder Umstaende (Hauptsaechlich wegen dem Arbeitstempo argentinischer Grenzbeamten. Hab jetzt keine Lust das alles aufzuschreiben aber es gab dann keinen direkten Bus mehr und der Spacko von dem Busunternehmen wollte mir das Geld nicht zurueckgeben, wodurch wir eine recht angeregte Diskussion hatten, um es milde auszudruecken. Mal wieder Lateinamerika-logik par excellence. Habs dann nach insgesamt 25 std auf Unwegen doch nach Salta geschafft. Schoene Stadt und endlich Argentinien. Also kein Huehnchen... read more

Welcome to day 22 of our trip, day 9 of our tour, 1 day of Mischa being 25 and Salta!! But we left you at Saena Pena, so we'll start there!! This day was again an early start, as we were heading across the Chaco desert to the 8th biggest city in Argentina. We all boarded the bus at 7am, ready for a big day. This was a long day, with no air-con except good old fashioned windows, and a desert to look at. But it wasn't really a desert, just a lot of cattle stations and agriculture.
