I am worried about volunteering/internships with many of the advertised companies eg Global crossroads, as I have heard some horror stories. Many people recommend simply contacting an ngo directly, has anyone had any experience of doing this in South America, in particular Argentina? any advice on contacting local ngos directly?

Thanks heaps Reply to this

If you google "volunteer south america" you get a list of free and cheap volunteer projects.

Most of these look to be grassroots organisations. Perhaps somewhere to start is to look there and then try to contact people who have been on the projects directly. Facebook is a good source of that sort of info.

Hola!

We are an NGO based in Buenos Aires. We provide the opportunity to volunteering with the local community.
Please, check out our site www.voluntarioglobal.org and contact us for any inquiry.

Saludos!
