This is somewhat of a delayed and short blog but heres Argentina and Bolivia! The photographs particularly the salt flats are good though! First stop in Argentina is the Argentinian side of the great waterfalls Iguassu Falls. Surprisingly very different perspective as it was possible to walk next to the falls, rather than from the Brazillian side looking over the canyon to the waterfalls. The falls are just a magnificent and vast natural beauty! Bolivia First stop is the train cemetary, this is where the trains (unfortunately some of the trains here are ours!) were sent to when they were no longer used or useful and the trains are just left here to rust away- did provide a great Toucan tour group shoot though! Next the salt flats, the part that we have heard so much ... read more

We got into Salta at 9pm on the Friday and took a taxi to the hostel we had booked. Unfortunately, and rather annoyingly, there were no beds for us as some guys had missed their bus and so needed to stay an extra night. The hostel guy, to give him his dues, rang a place around the corner for us called Exxes, who did have space and a better deal in fact, so we wandered over, got showered and went out in search of dinner. The area we had to walk through to the centre of town seemed a little on the dodgy side – a sketchy park, badly lit, random groups of people hanging around watching your every move – but as we moved north of the park, it became much more pleasant with low ... read more

After a long (21 hrs) and comfortable bus journey ve arrived at Salta- a beautiful green city. We stayed at La Posta Hostel on Cordoba Street whose staff were speaking English and very helpfull. We had city tour on an open sightseeing bus. We enjoyed our dinners at Dona Salta Rest. The food was delicious and cheap. After two nights we moved to Purmamarca by the early bus. In Purmamarca one can feel the real South America culture and we took the photos of seven coloured mountain pieces. At this village we bought some soveniers. The same day we visited Humahuaca village. We had lunch and walked around the village where they were celebrating carnival. After spending few ours at this village we proceeded to the border town, La Quiaca. At late night we had ... read more

Day 52 -53 After the 25 hour bus ride we arrive to a rainy Salta and catch a cab to our hostel (with the moodiest taxi driver ever - Em tries, amd fails to charm him), which to our great relief is very nice. The next day we explore (now) sunny Salta with visits to the modern art gallery and Museo de Arqueolgia. The latter has a display of three inca child mummies. The story is that the best looking children were chosen to be sacrificed to the Inca gods, which although was a great honour, involved being drugged and buried (we thought definitely better to be ugly to escape that fate). The altitude they were buried at (c. 6700m) means that they were perfectly preserved when they were found and it was more than a ... read more

Salta is simply a nice place to spend a few days to recover from the riggers of horseriding, exploring mines and dealing with immigration officials at the border. Not much else I can add other than they seem to have as many ice cream shops as we have pubs... read more

Don´t cry for me Argentina. No worry, they won´t. So, yesterday I crossed the border with Bolivia. What I tought would be a piece of cake was actually a piece of cake but cooked in a cold oven. Pretty easily I left Bolivia, with a bus 2h after I crossed thew bridge between Villazon and Quiarca (the river IS the border). And then I got stuck for 3h. Why ? because there is only 1 person to stamp your passport !! Thing is that they found 72kg of Cocaine hidden in a car earlier the same day, so they were very cautious with cars, less with backpackers. I missed my bus, managed to take another one at 11pm to San Salvador de Jujuy, waited 2h there (and I tell you, so many things to do at ... read more

Neskor isiel kupit listky do Mendozy a ja som zatial balila. Cakala nas asi najdlhsia cesta v jednom kuse zatial - 18 hodin.

We both felt for quite some time that we needed a proper relaxy day. We liked Salta and the hostel a lot so we decided for a lazy day here. I stayed whole day in our hotel, just in my pyjamas and jumper and Stan left just for a while to buy some food. But ... read more

Vezl nas asi nejhorsi ridic v dejinach - urcite nejnebezpecneji jezdici...Uhanel jako blazen a my meli co delat, aby nas to neodfouklo. Navic zacalo prset, ale to naseho silence nejak nebrzdilo, predjizdel kdekoli a za 25 minut jsme ujeli 60 km do Jujuy, kde jsme si oddechli, kdyz nam tady zastavil. Tady prselo jeste vic a my si ... read more
