Hallo zusammen, es ist zwar er ist ein paar Tage her, dass wir uns zuletzt gehört haben, und trotzdem möchte ich die Zeit nutzen, die versprochenen Bilder vom zweiten Besuch am Waihi Beach und dem zugehörigen hiking trail zu veröffentlichen. Natürlich habt ihr einiges schon gesehen, aber es war ein besonders schöner Tag und der Anfang der Strecke war auch neu also runter bis zum ersten Strand der Homunga Bay. Und außerdem habe ich diesmal ja auch den Abstecher zu den William Wright Wasserfällen gemacht, die ich persönlich als besonders schön empfunden habe, weil es so ein absolutes Ge kraxel durch und in der Wildnis gewesen ist. Kia Ora zusammen, endlich ist es so weit und der nächste Blogeintrag steht bereit. Es ist ja nun schon eine Weile her seitdem ich das erste Mal eine Rückmeldung aus Neuseeland gegeben habe und es war auch eine Menge los und ich viel beschäftigt, allerdings auch mit viel Kram der einfach in einen ganz normalen Alltag gehört und weniger Aufregendes für diesen Blog zu bieten hat. Einige Fragen sich vielleicht, warum ich so im Alltag beschäftigt bin, wo ist doch viel besser und sinnvoller wäre die Zeit zu nutzen, um tolle Orte zu entdecken oder grandiose Fotos zu schießen. My my does time fly...... I've been working and living in Queenstown for seven weeks now, but it dies but feel that long at all. Besides my job at the hostel I've also started working at a restaurant. So I'm working around 60h every week. The days I work the morning shift the hostel and the evening at Blue Kanu I crawl out of bed at seven work for 8½h have an between 30min and 1½h of free time in which I also habe to get ready and walk to my evening shift and then get back to the hostel between 11pm and 12:30am. So when I'm only working the afternoon shift at the hostel I spend my morning catching up on rest. Same on my free days, in which I also do stuff like my ... read more

Tour Day 55, Auckland, New Zealand Day 8, Sunday, December 3 2023 – All good things must come to an end. It was time to head back to Auckland and prep for my Monday flight to Cairns, Australia. I helped where it made sense, like drying the dishes, but mostly just stayed out of the way. Outside, I documented some of the driveway work to be undertaken. We stopped at a nice midway point for a pizza lunch. Not Italian, not American; perhaps it was a Kiwi pizza. Go figure! After lunch, we diverted to a more scenic coastal route for my benefit. Tour Day 54, Bay of Islands, Russell, New Zealand Day 7, Saturday, December 2, 2023 – Ninety Mile Beach and Cape Reinga Tour Ninety Mile Beach is on the western coast of the far north of the North Island of New Zealand. The beach is actually 88 kilometres long. Its southern end is close to the headland of Tauroa Point, to the west of Ahipara Bay, near Kaitaia. This 88-mile stretch of coastline features sand dunes & cruising tours via 4-wheel drive vehicles. Somewhere in the translation, 90 (almost) kilometers beach became 90–mile beach. Eighty–eight kilometers actually is 54.68 miles. Tour Day 52, Bay of Islands, Russell, New Zealand Day 5, Thursday, November 30, 2023 – The Hole in the Rock Cruise actually begins in Paihia, New Zealand but makes a stop in Russell to maximize the number of paying customers on board. It was quite windy, making it a little cool for an Arizonan standing on the bow, so I moved back and forth between the protected cabin and the open bow. A young lady from Switzerland stationed herself on the bow and never faltered. Disgusting! She deserves to sleep on the ground and luxuriate in a hostel so she can shower periodically!
