Heya zusammen, ich hoffe Ihr hattet ein schönes Weihnachtsfest und einen interessanten Jahreswechsel nach 2009?! Bei mir war alles recht unspektakulär und mehr oder weniger nachdenklich....aber das passt ja auch zum Anfang eines neuen Jahres und ich bin gespannt welche Abenteuer sich das Schicksal für mich dieses Jahr ausgedacht hat...wenn es Gute sind gleich mal damit loslegen :O) Ansonsten komme ich eben gerade von einem Abendessen bei Mel, John, Skye und Hugh zurück... Hat sich so ganz spontan ergeben, als ich Mel auf dem Woolworth Parkplatz getroffen habe und so gings dann auch zappzarapp gleich zu deren Haus zu einem hervorragenden BBQ mit geräuchertem Snapper (ein Fisch) als Vorspeise und lecker Steak, mit Spinatsalat, Broccoli und Kartoffeln...Ja mittlerweile freue ich mich über richtiges Grünzeugs fast noch mehr als über Steak, denn Steak habe ich jeden Tag ... read more

Tauranga to Auckland - or would you believe Whitianga Captains Log: Left Bridge marina 0730hrs, Monday 22 December 2008. Once clear of Tauranga/Mount entrance able to lay a northern course in the steadily increasing nor’easter. Wind increased to about force 3, 15 knots. Once past Aldermans able to ease sheets slightly and aim for Red Mercury. The plan was that as going round Red Mercury and heading towards Colville Channel we would be able to ease sheets further. However, with the change of destinations to Whitianga we had to back track past Red Mercury again and sailed into Mercury Bay with wind at our back. As the wind declined we motored in. Heya zusammen! Das letzte "Heya" fuer dieses Yahr um genau zu sein....dann nehme auch ich mri mal eine Auszeit vom Berichte tippen... Wann und wie es weitergeht steht derzeit och in den Sternen, aber auch zukuenftig werde ich versuchen dann und wann mal ein wenig von meinen Abenteuern in New Zealand oder ueberhaupt von mir hier niederzuschreiben. Geht ya auch gar nicht anders, denn komischweise habe ich ueberrschend viel positives Feedback ueber die Zeit hinweg bekommen, was da heisst.... Die, von denen ich ueberhaupt mal was gehoert habe fanden die Berichte doch immerhin so interessant, dass sie mich das haben wissen lassen und mich zugleich ermuntert haben das auch zukuenftig zu tun. Un dich muss sagen das hat mich schon etwas gefreut, denn da waren auch Rueckmeldungen dabei, da haette ich im Leben nicht mit gerechnet...also ... read more

Tuesday 16th, I had a very interesting day, set out from Hahei, my plan to visit Hot Water Beach, 10km away, or wherever the road takes me. I got pickup just outside of town by a very friendly lady named Carra. She dropped me off at the SH26, which would take me to the SH25 on my way to Tauranga. I walked for about 1km & was picked up by a older couple thats originaly from the UK. Very friendly & very interesting people. They've been in NZ for three years & is on there way to go live somewhere else. They have lived all over the world. They droped me off in Thames. 0km, I set off today from my small haven @ 8:45 this morning on foot, breaking in my new Black Diamond tracking poles. My plan to hit the infamous 309 Road to Cathedral Cove. (infamous for it's addaptivenes to "sporatic" growth of cannabis) 3km, I reached town, bought some supples and put Coromandel to my back. 6km, I turned left on 309 and started hitching. Quite a couple of cars went by with no hits. The best way to describe what I've been going through since taking the ferry is: I set off down stream without a paddle.
