Well, it's been awhile since we last journaled. Reason being is that over the last week or so, not too many exciting things have happened. After leaving Cairns we traveled up north to the tropical rainforest of Cape Tribulation. After having our van for 20 minutes, we received our first ticket and early the next morning were threatened by "the man," for living in a van down by the river, or in this case the beach. The drive to Cape Tribulation was a 1 1/2 lane, unpaved road meandering through the rainforest and the coastline. We spent the majority of our time at the Cape on hikes and discussing defense techniques against the infamous Cassowary. For those not familiar with this animal, as we weren't, picture a colorful cocky ass ostrich with a chip on ... read more

Well the time is upon me again to welcome the globe travelling freckle to the golden sands of Australia.Once again I was waiting for her at the gate when she walked through sporting a new haircut, which looks amazing by the way,and the aura of a pommie just stepping off the plane.I quickly whisked her away in the van,is what I should be writing if the vans head gasket hadnt blown the previous week.Timing is the master of something as someone once wrote,I think, but this was a kick in the nads as far as our plans were concerned.I had rented a car for the week so I whisked her off in my Hyundi to the town of Noosa on the north of the sunshine coast where we checked into a lovely ... read more

Just minutes after loading into our economy car at the Brisbane airport, Gene was already bitching that he had to drive with the steering wheel at one o’clock just to keep the car in alignment with the road. Our plan was to head north of the city of Brisbane toward the Sunshine Coast where beach bums pass time basking in the sun along the shore. After driving an hour and a half with our shitty windshield wipers merely smearing the raindrops across our window, we renounced any and all thoughts of spending the rest of the day at the beach. As we drew near the town of Caloundra, the gateway to the Sunshine Coast, Gene and I agreed that its architecture and climate were similar to that of Florida. Having booked our hotel off of the ... read more

After leaving Tony in Brisbane I was unsure of my next step and not being a person who likes to plan too far ahead ended up booking into a packpackers in Brisbane and stagnating for a few days.My travels so far had put me in touch with alot of different people,English,Irish,Canadian,Isrealia,American and a whole lot more but I hadnt actually meet many Aussies. With that in mind I broke out the old faithful map and began to plot my next move! From Brisbane most travellers head straight to Noosa and miss out the whole of the Sunshine coast which by its name I wanted to visit anyway. This coupled with the fact that I hadnt done much kiting in a while drew my to a place called Caloundra.about one hundred kms from Brisbane. I arrived at about eleven ... read more

Hi my friends. Find the newest photos at: http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=n1ics9r.3mxtxuej&x=0&y=-i76435 This one is going to be short and sweet because I'm getting charged $10/hour to use the internet. I just finished up spending 10 days with my friends, Kimberley, Dave and 2 boys Joshua and Noah on the Sunshine Coast in Australia. It was wonderful to see them. I met Kimberley in San Diego about 7 years ago. She married an Aussie, Dave and they moved down under. It was a short trip but we got a lot in. It was sad to leave because the boys were finally just getting very comfortable hanging out with me. I miss them. Kimberley and Dave too. We mostly did kid stuff like, go to the Australia Zoo, The Big Pineapple and play in the pool or at the beach. ... read more
