Catalyst – a person or thing that precipitates an event. We’ve always talked about taking the boys on a lap of Australia. I did it with my family when I was four and Jason and I had done it in sections over the years before kids. 2020 was going to be the year we set off to coincide with Jason’s long service leave. That was until a series of events set the wheels in motion just a bit faster than we had originally planned. With the passing of both of my parents in just over two years we were ready. What were we waiting for. Life is too bloody short to sit around talking about ideas and ideals. Ryan and Tate flew home today...a bit sad, but Ryan had a good time. Whole row of 3 seats made the trip manageable. Weather was a mixture - overcast and rainy in afternoon. Went for a drive to Montville up in the hills. Absolutely amazing. So much like a village, with craft shops and cafes everywhere. Clock shop with beautiful clocks of all types. Heavy rain on the way home. Laura and Sam went to see an uncle of Sam's (and his wife) from USA. We had a huge cook up - baked potatoes, etc.... read more

Tate was awake at 6:15am! Laura and Sam entertained him so that rest could get some sleep. Beach path walk in morning up to Mt Coolum shops. Drinks and relax in a cafe! DD, Eliza and Hayley braved the pool again - a little cool, but good fun! Fish and Chips for tea - Brendan and Beck out for a date night and movie!! The rest of us played Psych for a little while.... read more

Monday - relaxing day. Afternoon - drove to Noosa Heads Beach - went for a swim (nearly) as it was a bit cool in water. Ben & Jerry's icecream to finish! Noosa Heads was very busy - hard to find a park at the beach.... read more
